Hello! My name is Elise, and I just moved here to Utah. I have experience tutoring and teaching in school, and at the YMCA was employed as a swim instructor. There I was given the skills and tools to teach swimming, and the concepts can extend to other topics as well.

I’m most interested in tutoring in Chemistry and Math. I got a 4. 0 in General Chemistry throughout the sequence, and I have a strong grasp and understanding of the concepts. I frequently helped my classmates understand the material, and am skilled in understanding others’ thought processes, which helps me explain concepts in a way that is easily understood by the individual. I’m especially passionate about Chemistry, which helps me teach concepts because I’m enthusiastic about the content. If you would like I can provide my Chemistry teacher as a reference.

For math, I got a 4. 0 two of the quarters in my Calculus class, and a 3. 9 in the last quarter. I also excelled in Pre-Calculus, and am comfortable teaching that as well. In high school I professionally tutored a senior and freshman in their math classes. I was able to help the freshman get from an F to an A by the end of the semester, and helped the senior succeed in his class as well. I can provide a reference if needed.

I also have experience tutoring General Biology. At my previous college, I held a study group, which greatly helped my classmates’ understanding of the material. We met about once a week, and my classmates said numerous times that my study group helped them in their understanding of the content. I also got a 4. 0 in this class.

In my profile I've included my Valedictorian award, as well as my transcripts and a letter of recommendation. The letter of recommendation was written with an internship in mind, but has useful information for your purpose. I am a naturally cheerful and positive person, and find personal satisfaction in helping others. Tutoring is something that I naturally excel at, and I know can help you acheive any educational goal.
