I am a 30 year old educator from New York who has been working as a teaching assistant and tutor for over ten years. My experience ranges between children still in primary school all the way up to college/university level students. I have experience teaching ELA (English Language Arts), Reading, Writing, Essays, College Prep/Admissions, New York State Regents Exams, SAT Prep, Creative Writing, and more. I also have experience tutoring basic Music Theory and elementary school level Mathematics and history, but English is my best subject and also one that I am the most passionate about. I consider myself to be an empathetic and patient person. I have worked with students from all sorts of backgrounds and walks of life, and my experience has taught me that everyone learns differently. The best approach to teaching is to have patience, empathy, and understanding. If a student doesn't learn something the first time around, then perhaps they simply need it to be explained differently, or to find a method that works the easiest for their personal comprehension and ability.
