My Philosophy: While teaching, I feel that it is necessary to share my gifts and talents in the classroom as well as with others who may need extra help. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and helping kids see their maximum potential in their learning. I want to continue tutoring throughout the summer as well as into the school year. This area of education is crucial to me, and I want to make sure that the kids I work with understand the content better as to when they had started working with me. My Tutoring Experience: I have worked with children from 1st-3rd grade in all subject areas. I have worked with 4th-8th graders on study skills to prepare them or help them succeed in both middle school (6th-8th) or high school (9th-12th). I have worked with students in middle school in almost all subject areas, including but not limited to: English, writing, social studies, science, and religion. Tutoring and COVID-19: In these times of uncertainty, it has become clear to me that many parents are not comfortable with their children returning to the classroom. Therefore, I would like to offer my services regardless if a student is attending school regularly, as in face to face or if they are going to be engaging in remote learning (i. e. virtual). I understand the reality that many parents have full-time jobs and can't take on an entirely new job: becoming their child's full-time teacher. I know it is common for many young children to become easily distracted, thus it will be my job to guide individuals through their virtual schooling and keep them on track. Additionally, I am flexible about where you would want tutoring to take place. For instance, I can come to you, you can come to me, or we can use a platform such as Zoom to ensure your child is getting what they need.

My teaching style incorporates my love of art and music to create a creative and productive learning atmosphere. I work to forge genuine connections with students built on a foundation of genuine care and professional competence. Over my four years as a part-time music educator, I developed strong classroom management and curriculum development skills. In finishing my teaching certification last spring in a rather unconventional atmosphere, I have added flexibility in my practice and fluency in online learning tools to my list of qualifications. I enjoy and am proficient in teaching both basic skills as well as critical thinking. I assess student needs and research teaching materials online as well as support textual learning and assignments given by classroom teachers. I make subject matter meaningful and fun. I can provide references if you'd like.
Speak with me about you / your child and what your situation and needs are. The consultation and 30 minute initial meeting with the student is complementary. You can decide if we are a good match for what you're looking for.
Cheers!

Hi! My name's T, I'm a college student studying to be a teacher. I love teaching, learning, and helping others. My hours and rates are fairly flexible and open to discussion. I've been tutoring since I was in eighth grade, but officially I'd put it around 2-3 years ago. I make lesson plans, worksheets, study guides - whatever you or your child need to succeed! I also like to keep both the student and parent updated on progress, assignments, and anything important I notice. I look forward to working with you!

Hi! I am a junior in highschol, and I love helping kids with their homework, classwork, etc. I have gotten nothing but straight A's during my school career, and I am hoping to do the same for your child! Learning common core and th enew way of teaching can be difficult especially as common core is much more complicated than the way the parents were taught. Now, they want explanations, logicla reasoning, what I like to call the VANG approach, whihc is verbally algebraically numerically and graphically, especially when it comes to math. Learn your VANG approach, and it will promise your child an A on your child's next test or quiz! I look forward to chatting and teaching your child. Talk soon!!
