I am from California, and I took the California High School Proficiency Exam in my sophomore year, leaving high school that same year and starting college. I have not completed college due to not actually knowing what I want to pursue long-term. I do, however, have a passion for English, - grammar and sentence structure are something I enjoy putting my time into - and I have been helping people around me with their own English classes for years. I have never recieved lower than a B grade on an essay, and my proofreading has helped my friends and family to achieve higher grades. I am also an award winning artist. My medium of choice is pencil or acrylic paint. I have been drawing since i was four years old and have not stopped since. I am proficient in American Sign Language, and English is my native language.

My specialties include English language and literature, history, art history, and social sciences. I took AP English, History, Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus in high school all while playing two sports. In college I received academic, music, and art scholarships and graduated with Honor. I have tremendous empathy for learners of all ages and greatly value the guidance I received as a student. I welcome every opportunity to pay it forward and help students as a tutor.
My career as an artist and web designer has given me a love of humanities and culture. Soon after completing my bachelor's degree in graphic design, I started a "penny university" - an independent coffee shop - that hosted poetry readings, live music, art shows, and a high school philosophy club. For over a decade, I have independently studied and written about art history, ancient and European history, and languages including English, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. I have travelled several times to Europe, including London, Oxford, Rome, and Florence, and I have lived, worked, and studied in Chicago, Portland, and New York.
