I like working with people and helping others learn new things. I am working on becoming a high school English teacher and minoring in viticulture. I have worked with kids for the past ten years and have been tutoring for four. I have tutored students who spoke broken English, had autism, learning disabilities, as well as physical disabilities. My specialties are English and history. However, I am also able to teach algebra and geometry 1 and 2 as well as chemistry.
Hi :)
My name is Shauna. I just moved to San Francisco from Ireland.
I am currently an elementary school teacher and can tutor any subject at elementary level.
I have experience working with children with Dyslexia also.
I spent two years in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) with children, teenagers, and adults.
I have also taught the Irish language part-time for a number of years.
I am available for any of these! :)

A VERY DIFFERENT TYPE OF PERSONAL TRAINER. I'M A 100% MOBILE TRAINER.
I know wanting to better your health and get fit is a priority for most people, but making that leap and actually doing something about it can be tough.
I hate gyms, always have, so don't work in them. I come to you in your home or a local park, where you feel comfortable and tailor a program to fit your wants and needs. I have all the equipment we will ever need and work out with you.
I specialize in getting people feeling strong again; especially people that haven't been active physically in a long time, if ever, in their lives.
Examples of Current Clients:
• helped a woman lose over 100lbs and a man lose over 120lbs.
• a man gain 20lbs of muscle and the arms he always dreamed of
• eating disorder clients become athletes
• older adults gain balance and mobility getting out of their wheelchairs
• young adults get fit and ready for scholastic sports
• heart attack and stroke patients get back to better health
• damaged joint and back problem sufferers learn how to manage their injuries to live fuller lives
• and many other clients learn that exercise can be fun and a regular part of their lives
I have experience teaching in the classroom. I previously taught alternative education for one year and 11th and 12th grade English in a continuation high school. In the past I taught 7th and 8th grade English. I also taught ELA Enrichment, which was a remedial English class designed to get below grade level students up to grade level. I received my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. I also have my Master's degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Before teaching in my own classroom, I substitute taught and worked as a paraprofessional. I was a paraprofessional in self-contained and full inclusion classrooms.
The first thing I do for tutoring is give my students a grade level assessment. The grade level assessment helps me discover what level my student is working at. The assessment also shows me which items need to be worked on. I give lessons on a subject, such as grammar, first. After the lesson, my student and I do a few problems together. After completing the problems together, I have my student work on some problems by themselves. I check the answers in front of my student. If any of the problems are wrong, we go over the problems together. We discuss the right and wrong answers and also why the answer is wrong. I also help students with their homework, if needed.
