I love interacting with others and teaching them what I know to make a difference in their lives. My greatest belief is that the imagination is the limit. I want to help students get better and achieve their dreams. Some of my teachers were amazing, and I want to be that person for someone else.
I teach/tutor chemistry, biology, and calculus. As a student of biology, these are my areas of focus where I excel. Having given the AP just recently and having a good experience in helping others through the process, I am adept at making others understand the fundamentals as well as the more developed ideas.

Hi! My name is Abigail, and while I have no formal training in the education field, I am able to help out anyone in need of school tutoring! As I am currently a Junior in high school (graduating next school year 2020-2021), I do not have the full capabilites to help with any subjects. However, I am willing to help with the subjects I am able to! I have taken several science, math, social studies, and english courses in my school as well as up to level 4 of the German language. As for science, I range from basic earth science to chemistry to human anatomy to medical terminology! Math is from Elementary (K-5), Middle (6-8), and High school (Algebra 1-Prob and Stats, opted out of Precalc and Calculus classes). In the English department, I will be in English 4 this upcoming school year, but I have also taken Creative Writing courses to help further my ability to help with English classes. For Social Studies, I can do anything from Middle (grades 6-8) to Highschool (with the exception of Government, Economy, and any AP classes).

Hi there! I am a former scientist who happens to enjoy English and test preparation in addition to math and science. I have a bachelor's degree in chemistry and biology from Boston University, a PhD in biological chemistry from The Scripps Research Institute, and three years of postdoctoral experience at Harvard University in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The subjects in which I specialize include Test Preparation; Mathematics; General Chemistry; Organic Chemistry; English Writing, Grammar, and Literature; and Introductory Biology . As a tutor, I am patient and adept at identifying areas in which students may need extra help. My style is informal and approachable, and I relate extremely well to students ranging from elementary-school-age to working adults.
About me: I have worked as a part-time Professor of Chemistry at local colleges and universities; I tutor extensively in subjects ranging from science to English to test preparation; and I worked for many years as a scientist--performing experiments and communicating results through written and oral presentations to specialists and non specialists alike. Through these experiences, I have become expert at relating to students of all ages and educational backgrounds.
I began tutoring students in general chemistry and organic chemistry while in college. This was done both as part of a free tutoring service offered by a student chemistry organization and as a private organic chemistry tutor. Many organic chemistry students who took both semesters of the class, after seeking my help for one semester, requested I stay on to help them in the second semester. Students who recieved my help in the free tutoring frequently began to request my help as a tutor (the service always had multiple tutors available) in subsequent weeks.
While I did not work specifically as a tutor in graduate school, I had been employed as a Teaching Assistant, specifically with the general chemistry courses. Similar to my tutoring work in college, students enjoyed having me as a TA, finding me very helpful for better understanding a fairly complicated course. All student reviews of my work as a TA have been above average, with praising comments.
While I do not specifically have experience as a math tutor, I do have experience tutoring math concepts (the subjects covered in general chemistry will involve basic math to algebra). Having minored in Mathematics in college, I also have experience with multiple levels of calculus.
From all of my experience as a tutor/TA, I have always found it rewarding to watch students grow and better understand what is being taught. Chemistry and Math are challenging courses for many people, and as someone who genuinely enjoys these subjects, I want to help make the classes/homework a little easier for those who don't.
My teaching method is tailored to every student’s learning style. I can give lectures, help with homework, or work problems alongside students.
To learn something it is helpful to be exposed to the material in many different ways and formats; This helps to strengthen neural pathways so the information is easy to recall and utilize. Moreover, I try to answer questions and teach using many different mediums --visual, auditory, and analogical. As a tutor, I am always learning during every session about how to better serve students’ needs to ensure utmost satisfaction.
I am a recent college graduate with a passion for learning and teaching. I was a tutor while on my campus and will love to continue working with students all around. I believe that tutoring helps the student learn but also helps the tutor relearn.
Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Calculus 1, Algebra, Statistics and Pre-Calculus lessons in Anderson, SC.
I am a junior at Centennial High School and have been enrolled in Advanced Placement(AP) and Gifted and Talented(GT) courses since my freshman year. Throughout middle school, I had interests in math and science classes specifically, but by 8th grade, I was in above grade placement classes in every subject. When I began high school I quickly got involved in theatre arts, videography, photography, and charitable clubs. Although I was forced to retire gymnastics after ten years due to injury, I was able to participate in Varsity Cheerleading my Sophomore year. Academics hold great value to me, specifically the real-world applications of what is taught in school.
I hold a Ph. D in Physics from United states.
