Elementary Education major with a minor in ESE education. Experience as an SES tutor for the local county school system. Experience as a Reading Intervention Specialist for the local county school system and experience as a teacher's assistant. Worked with five groups of up to six students to provide education in Phonics, Reading, Vocabulary and Language Arts. Field experience in a first grade and fifth grade classroom as a part of my degree. Worked with students on Math, Computer Lab, Science, English and History. Experience as a private tutor working with students of all ages. Tutored groups of students online in English and Language Arts. Provided quality childcare services in my home to children of all ages along with preschool and kindergarten curriculum.

Cheryl is a multi-passionate, life-long learner. Cheryl’s passion for education began as a young child, and she started helping in her own public school classrooms by the age of seven. Over the years, her experiences in education include tutoring, assisting, teaching, curriculum-creating, researching, editing, and now homeschooling/“unschooling” along with her own children. Her post-secondary studies brought her to Spain, Mexico, and Cuba, and she graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Studies. She owned a successful tutoring business for several years before her first child was born. Cheryl is passionate about social equity, compassionate communication and relationships (specializing in NVC and compassionate parenting), cooperative and collaborative work and play, holistic education, and life-long learning. Cheryl is also a Certified Health Coach, TPRS Instructor, and Leader-Mentee of The Dances of Universal Peace.
