I got a lot of experience tutoring in high school as a part of the National honors society as well as helping out and observing speech pathologists such as my mom and her colleagues. I love helping students with school work and understand that some subject can be harder to grasp than other. Being a business major I understand that perseverance is key to success and will work hard to help make things as clear and understandable as possible.
Hello! I am a rising senior at Wheaton College, studying molecular biology with a speciality in genetics. Along with biology, I also have interests in literature, academic writing, and creative writing. At Wheaton College, I was a group biology tutor from August 2018-May 2019, during which time I helped biology students with difficult topics, homework, comprehension, and test study. I also occasionally tutored struggling biology students in personalized one-on-one sessions. The next year, 2019-2020, I transitioned to a job at the Wheaton College Writing Center where I helped many students with the skill of scientific and academic writing. During my time in this job, I assisted students with editing papers, brainstorming, organizing their writing, learning citation styles, and generally helping them to craft higher-quality papers. I especially enjoyed helping students to write lab reports, scientific literature reviews, and research reports of their own work, encouraging them to blend their writing and scientific skills. Though biology and academic writing are my greatest strengths, I also love literature and creative writing. I took several elective writing classes at Wheaton to pursue my writing hobbies of poetry, short stories, and fantasy/sci-fi novels, and I even won the first place Lowell-Grabel creative writing poetry contest award for a poem about science! My varied interests intersect in ways that can truly be beneficial to a student looking for extra academic support in many different areas.
COVID-19 is changing the way students learn and interact with academic material. Instead of losing momentum during this time of crisis, I would like to propel you or your student through challenging material and remind them of the joy of learning, as well as the intricacies of the world around them. I believe that this can be done while staying safe at home! I would love to tutor students age 7-adult. Please reach out to me or schedule a time to meet if I fit your academic needs and interests.

I am a current Bryn Mawr college undergraduate (Junior) with a double major in Latin and German, and a minor in Comparative Literature. I have been studying Latin for 10 years now, and German for 2. I have tutored English for 3 years as well! I offer tutoring for Latin, German, and English/English Literature. I absolutely love language! If I could, I would learn every language in the world. I want to spend the rest of my life teaching langauges, and helping students fall in love with Latin and German the same way I did.
I've worked with students who need general help to improve their language skills both in the target language and in English, students who want help with vocabulary for the SAT or spelling bees, students who need extra help to prepare for specific tests in school, and students who want to start learning from scratch. I've worked with the students's teachers specifically, and helped parents understand the options for teaching from the beginning too.
I have always had a great passion for helping others and being in the classroom. In deciding on a profession, I chose to follow my passion of leading, teaching, and helping others. While my primary focus for my degree is Secondary Education with a specialization in history, I have extensive experience tutoring children from preschool through high school. Likewise, I babysit and nanny children from infancy through middle school. During my time in high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society and the Italian Honor Society. I was also an ambassador for the National Society of High School Scholars. I was also a member of the Peer Mentor organization and a club called PUSH/REBEL. These organizations focused on teaching the youth of the community the dangers of getting involved with or using illegal substances and helped immerse students in positive leadership and educational activities. As a college student, I work for a tutoring company and tutor English Language Arts, History, Chemistry, and Algebra. I also work for a nanny company. It is my hope that I can connect with more students and have the opportunity to work with more children through TutorExtra.
I have worked with Headstart and Big Brother Big Sister. I am comfortable working with children of all ages.

I can only teach grades lower than me because I find it easier as off now. I would try and make learning fun for your child so they don't think learning is boring. I would always try and teach my sisters all the time. The first session is free so we can get to know eachother then. I can even help with homework, thats not a problem with me at all. I would always try and bring a snack, so you can tell me what your child is allergic to. But I wouldn't bring peanuts because I'm allergic to peanuts and stuff like that. I put psychotherapy because I honestly LOVE to listen and help so maybe me and your teen or child can bond. Maybe we can relate. I can't add photos of myself until I get my phone fixed so I'm using a laptop at the moment. We can meet at the library or any other place it's up to you. Maybe even sometimes my home. I don't really have as much experience but I love to learn so I might see if this is for me. I am very respondsible, fun-loving, patient, trustworthy and I am always happy! My interest in working as an academic tutor began after earning an A grade on the first expository essay I wrote as a college freshman. Over ten years later, I submitted an economic research report as a continuing education student. That report reawakened a proclivity for academic prose. From that point on, I pursued all writing roles either as the mentor or as the author. My first tutoring responsibility materialized in the fall of 2009 when I accepted an assignment to tutor freshman English courses. Needless to say, the tutoring sessions became a productive and valuable educational www.*** ;It is gratifying to meet a student who does not understand the essay requirement and has other equally important and urgent subjects to master, and then leave enlightened and empowered one hour later. I have worked with students who arrive with the task, a weak draft, and a deadline; then, leave with a fresh new outlook and a well-defined course of direction. The end result is a new educational perspective and an eagerness to return to the writing center they once eluded, whether the next day or years later. This is the episode I encounter hour after hour and day after day. Every student brings a new dilemma that has to be evaluated, restructured and refocused. It is rewarding to be the source of a life changing www.*** ;My long term personal goal has been to educate individuals on academic prose, formal argument and research protocol. I believe that the motivated, broadminded and agile university population is the optimal audience for a writing enthusiast such as I and that alone has served as my guiding principle. I worked in Princeton for several years after graduating from college and, as such, I would not hesitate to further my commitment as a writing center tutor. I have been a member of four major research organizations and I feel qualified to mentor university students, given the prospect.

As far as it comes to general education: I've been there, and I've done that. Having said that, I'd like to denote the absolute importance of true learning and actual knowledge of a subject - something that is difficult to ascertain in a classroom where you are simply going through the motions of socialisation.
So if you're looking to cut through the mundane and get a deeper understanding of some material, or if you're looking for someone to help you game the system to turn busy work into light work - then I'm your guy.
Also, don't be discouraged by the thought that I won't be able to translate the material well to someone that isn't accustomed to AP classes, rather, consider it like so: I can help provide that deeper "AP analysis and understanding" without all of the "rigor", or rather, all the busy work, cramming material, www.*** it as getting a taste of an AP experience through a much friendlier, understanding, and eloquent medium that has seen what works and what doesn't work in terms of teaching students, and can therefore pick and choose the good from the bad to help you make sense of the www.*** said that, here are some of my credentials:I've taken 11 APs throughout my high school career:-AP Economics (5/4)-AP Lang and Comp (5)-AP Calc BC (3)-AP Physics 1 (3)-AP US History (5)-AP Psych (4)-AP Lit and Comp (-)-AP Comp Sci A (-)-AP Statistics (-)-AP Physics C (-)-AP French Lang (-)I have a 97(dot)91/100 weighted GPA, which translates in practicality to a 4(dot) www.*** seems this website censors dots as websites, which is a bit odd.

I'm a freelance university and community college instructor with over 15 years experience teaching and tutoring various subjects––from English literature and essay writing to creative writing, the humanities (history, philosophy, social sciences, and theology), and public speaking. I've taught at my alma mater New Jersey City University, as well as William Paterson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Berkeley College, Bergen Community College and Hudson County Community College, and I've given lectures at Montclair State University, Columbia University, and Parson's School of Design. My own writing (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction) has been published in dozens of print and online publication, and I have given a TED talk on fundraising based on my book, Crowdfunding for Filmmakers. I'm looking to put my skills to good use tutoring middle to high school students (ages 13 - 18), college students, and professionals. Workshops and classes are also available, too––just let me know what you need and I'm sure I'll be able to oblige!
Hi! My name is Keegan, and I'm a freelance writer and photographer based in New York. I have been tutoring for the past five years and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences doing so, and specialize in history, English literature, and writing tutoring. I have a bachelor's degree in visual studies from the New School for Social Research, which combines traditional art history with critical art, gender, and social theory, as well as minoring in culture and media. These were both writing-heavy programs, and required rigororous study and dedicated time. I have a very flexible schedule and work on an hourly basis.
