Hello! I would love to help you (or you child) foster a love for learning and further your education! Whether you're falling behind in a class, looking to get ahead, or pursuing an outside interest, I'm the person for you! I am currently a high school student with over 6 years of experience in childcare and teaching. I have worked with both neurotypical and neurodivergent students and believe I am well equipped to help students of all skill levels and abilities. I am currently a private music instructor and a daycare teacher, throughout the stay at home order for the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked for a family as a 1-on-1 tutor to help their children (6 and 14) with online/distance learning. I have a passion for music and believe it to be an important tool to be used when learning/teaching new subjects. I am always looking to learn more and approach every opportunity to educate myself further. Your tutoring session will be tailored to you, if you learn better through conversation and the socratic method, then we'll do that! If you learn better through worksheets and tests, that is exactly what we'll do. Upon graduating high school, I'm planning on pursuing a degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Eduation from Bowling Green State University with a minor in music performance! I have a weighted GPA of www.*** and recieved a 31 on my ACT. Please feel free to email me at ***@*** com with any questions/comment/concerns you may have! I look forward to getting to know you and/or your student, and learning together!

Hi, I’m Colleen!
I recently graduated cum laude from Princeton with a BA in Sociology. I'm open to traditional tutoring for grades 3-12 as well as providing oversight while your kids partake in virtual schooling. I'm patient and willing to try a variety of different approaches, as I understand that we don't all learn the same way!
Details:
-One-on-one or groups up to 3. I can work directly your child, or can instead provide oversight and guidance as they navigate distanced learning.
-I believe communication is important! I’ll provide informal written progress reports to parents every few weeks so that we’re on the same page.
-Open to virtual tutoring on the platform of your choice. If you’re in or near Capitol Hill, Seattle and think in-person tutoring would be best, let’s talk-- maybe we can come up with a safe arrangement!
-My schedule is flexible!
About me:
When I was in third grade, I delighted in creating homework packets for my younger sister and parents. Now, I am a recent Princeton grad with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish Language & Culture. I have experience tutoring one-on-one lower-level math (fifth and ninth grade), and always loved watching a concept finally click when we drew a visual representation of the problem together. I have also volunteered as a homework helper for an after-school program in which I worked across a variety of subjects, mostly with first and fifth graders, and have mentored a local eighth grader through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Related experience involves living with a three-year old (who honestly tutored ME in Spanish) when I studied abroad two years ago, and facilitating entry into college life for first-year Princeton students through guided conversations and community service as an orientation leader.

In 2013,the founding educators of Piedmont Online Institute provided the vision, leadership, and a portion of the initial funding for the incorporation of The Piedmont Online Institution, a distance-learning institution in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded for the purpose of providing a pathway for success and leadership for adult learners. The focus is to bring about a quality distance-learning adult career institution. I am from California, and I took the California High School Proficiency Exam in my sophomore year, leaving high school that same year and starting college. I have not completed college due to not actually knowing what I want to pursue long-term. I do, however, have a passion for English, - grammar and sentence structure are something I enjoy putting my time into - and I have been helping people around me with their own English classes for years. I have never recieved lower than a B grade on an essay, and my proofreading has helped my friends and family to achieve higher grades. I am also an award winning artist. My medium of choice is pencil or acrylic paint. I have been drawing since i was four years old and have not stopped since. I am proficient in American Sign Language, and English is my native language.

I have been learning Japanese, in a school setting, for three years. I have learned outside of school through various apps and friends. I have maintained a 4 .0 (sometimes 4 .5)gpa throughout all of middle and high school. Last year, I helped a japanese foreign exchange student with every subject. Throughout the school years, many students have asked me for assistance with their homework- I guess you could say I've been tutoring for free! So, I thought I would start getting paid to do something I love. I also offer childcare services for 0-12 years old.
