I am a senior in high school looking to tutor students in several math and science classes as that is what I have focused on. I have completed all of the courses that I offer tutoring for with an A and I want to help other students who may be struggling. Feel free to email me at ***@*** or my phone number is tel: *** .
I recently graduated from Texas A&M with a PhD in neuroscience. There, I unofficially tutored undergraduated and graduate students in a variety of biology subjects, primarily neuroscience, anatomy, and histology. Before that, in college, I was a biology tutor specializing in introductory biology, molecular biology, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology.
In addition to science and biology, I love helping people learn to read and develop their language skills. Reading is a beautiful and integral part of interacting with the world around us, and I enjoy patiently guiding people of all ages into a greater understanding of the written word.
I am currently a biology major in college, but I can tutor in a variety of subjects! Such as English, History, Basic Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, History (APUSH and AP World as well), Biology, and Chemistry. I have a passion for learning and helping others and instilling positive and productive study habits in students I also can help with SAT prep as well!
I am a senior at North Royalton High School planning on pursuing a career in Nursing so I have taken many rigorous science classes. I am very well-rounded in all subject areas. I tutor fellow high school students through National Honor Society and have tutored fourth-grade students in Math previously.
My favorite thing to do in life is learning new things and relaying the things I've learned to other people. I've grown up tutoring my 3 younger siblings and 3 nieces (all in different grades) so I have experience in all kinds of subjects and learning levels. I'm a very comfortable person to talk to and understand. Whether it's helping out with the quadratic formula or teaching a young child how to read Dr. Suess, I'll figure out a way to help them comprehend the task at hand. I look forward to helping out!
I am looking for a tutoring job for any middle school or high school students. I specialize with algebra 1 and 2, basic statistics and basic chemistry and biology. I can work with you through zoom, FaceTime or any other method you prefer for remote learning. I have a www.*** overall GPA and have taken AP courses since my junior year.
I am a Michigan teacher, certified K-5 all subjects and 6-8 in Biology and History, that worked in public school classrooms for over 17 years. I am passionate about my craft, but a permanent physical disability has left me homebound. I'm hoping the opportunity to tutor online will allow me to continue to help students in meaningful ways.
I am Sindhu, an undergraduate at The Ohio State University. I just finished my second year of college and am majoring in Neuroscience. I have been tutoring elementary and middle school kids for almost a year in Math and love it!
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I'm working with new students who are in High School or below. I like to usually set down with both the parents and the student to talk about what might be some major concerns that they might have. And try to start off by reviewing what they already know and work from there.
When I'm working with college students. I will usually talk to them about their majors and what they are planning on doing in the future to try and relate to them the best I can.
No matter what age group I'm working with. I'm always trying to find ways to relate what they like to science so they can link positive things to the subject at hand
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a Biology Major at Zane State College. I work with students one on one and in groups. To help break down the chapter subjects that are being asked of them to understand.
I'm a Regional and a State Judge for The Ohio Academy of Science. Where I got to learn and question the projects that the middle schoolers- high schoolers presented.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle school
High School
Traditional College students
Non-Traditional College Students
Kids and adults with IEP's and other accommodations
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Even If something seems hard. There is always another way of learning it. Don't stop because you don't understand it the first try.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is it the coursework or just the teaching method you don't understand when being explained something.
I am a high school senior who has prepared New York Regents preperation materials for fellow students in the past. Every student I have helped have passed their regents and almost all of them have scored greater than an 85. I am most knowledgable about Earth Science and Biology. However, I can help students in Algebra I, Physics and Chemistry. I ask that students provide me an understanding of what they have already learned, for example if a student needs help with homework I ask them to come with notes their teacher provided, so I have an understanding of a student's prior knowledge and what I can build off of to help them understand complex concepts.
I am a nurse obtaining her bachelor's degree. 2,000+ hours of NCLEX prep. Tutored anatomy, physics, and nursing for two years in college. I can offer help with APA formatting in nursing school. I can offer limited psychology and biology tutoring. I can do public tutoring in a library or place of my choosing. Live, face-to-face tutoring must be within 5-10 miles of my area. Online tutoring is available. I can upload or email lesson plans. I only tutor adults. Looking forward to working with you!
My name is Sherman C. and I am originally from Houston, Texas. I have always had a love for learning. This was evident when I was young and still exists today. I am the guy in the group who plays random trivia games to learn about new stuff that I have never been exposed to before. When I started college I discovered that I also have a deep love for teaching/tutoring. I discovered the ultimate way to assess if you really know something is whether or not you can teach it to someone who may not be familiar with the subject matter. This is a great challenge, but I enjoy it. I love to see the look on a person's face when they "get it." I have also found that I too learn new things about the subject that I may not have known before. This is a rewarding experience for me. The subjects I am most passionate about are Chemistry and Biochemistry as these were the subjects I majored in in college. I also have a degree Naturopathic Medicine which makes me very comfortable with all subjects relating to biology, physiology and nutrition. I taught in the public school system for a few years and have been doing private tutoring for the past 14 years. I value knowledge because once it is attained it cannot be taken away from someone. If a person decides to use it, it becomes even more www.*** ;
