Finding joy in helping others learn, I began tutoring students during my Junior year. I've helped students in the subjects: math, English, and language. Many have the way I present lessons to be much easier to comprehend. I'm willing to work with students with their preferred learning style and make it less of a chore. The students can bring their homework for help as well if needed. My schedule is flexible, and I'm willing to work with you.

I'm Caitlynn! I graduate West Career and Technical Academy with a specialization in Sports Medicine. In High School, the classes I appreciated most weren't the ones that I found most interesting. Rather, it was the teachers that kept the subjects interesting. These teachers were always engaging and comprehensible when teaching the material in the classroom, and went the extra mile when I asked for extra help or clarification. I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach and do everything I can to make it a pleasurable experience.
I have a year of tutoring experience with helping in 9th and 10th grade English. I work directly with any student who needs additional help.
I have a year of tutoring experience with helping in 9th and 10th grade Algebra. I work directly with any student who needs additional help. I also held small focus groups of 5-10 students who additionally needed the help. I also worked with students in class to ensure that they would not fall behind in that subject area.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible, therefore welcome any resources students or parents have to offer. I am easy to reach and will always respond in a timely manner. Feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions or want to schedule a lesson!

I have experience teaching in the classroom. I previously taught alternative education for one year and 11th and 12th grade English in a continuation high school. In the past I taught 7th and 8th grade English. I also taught ELA Enrichment, which was a remedial English class designed to get below grade level students up to grade level. I received my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. I also have my Master's degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Before teaching in my own classroom, I substitute taught and worked as a paraprofessional. I was a paraprofessional in self-contained and full inclusion classrooms.
The first thing I do for tutoring is give my students a grade level assessment. The grade level assessment helps me discover what level my student is working at. The assessment also shows me which items need to be worked on. I give lessons on a subject, such as grammar, first. After the lesson, my student and I do a few problems together. After completing the problems together, I have my student work on some problems by themselves. I check the answers in front of my student. If any of the problems are wrong, we go over the problems together. We discuss the right and wrong answers and also why the answer is wrong. I also help students with their homework, if needed.

My name in Ann. I graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Biophysics and BA in Neuroscience giving me a very strong background in science and math. I plan on pursuing my graduate studies in the near future. I also graduated as a valedictorian in high school. I guess you can say I've always been an overachiever growing up in a family that puts a lot of importance on academics. I can speak 4 languages: English, Ilocano, Tagalog and French. I am also currently learning Spanish.
Teaching has always been one of my passions. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you know you have successfully shared your knowledge someone. In college, I used to volunteer to tutor underprivileged children at the local elementary school and therefore I know how challenging it could be to tutor little children but I definitely developed the patience and learned how to keep them focused. For me, helping my classmates and friends solve problems in math and physics and understand concepts in subjects such as chemistry, biology, genetics and neurophysiology was the best form of studying. I take teaching very seriously as academic excellence has always been a priority of mine.
I'd be happy to travel to wherever is comfortable and convenient for my tutee. You can schedule a lesson at any of the following days/times:Sunday-Tuesday: 9am-8pm
If you do schedule, please keep in mind that I have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
I definitely hope to have a chance to work with anyone. Thank you.

From the moment students begin their first hour all the way through the completion of their program, we strive to instill The 3 C’s within our students:
The adaptability to Change (and then change again)
The desire and capability for Critical Thinking
To use their Creativity as a means of expression and analysis
These 3 C’s act as the core of our education programs and specialty classes, all designed to encourage and support the growth of the whole child throughout the processes of self-development. Students become excited about learning because our programs are rich in academic skills, scientific discovery, visual arts, world culture, and language. We employ the teaching philosophy of achievement and success developed over decades of research by world-renowned Stanford/Harvard University psychologist, Carol Dweck PhD.
