My experience includes being a peer tutor for people in my classes for two years, tutoring the ages of 7-14 for one and a half years, and serving as a peer counselor assisting peers in college applications which required tutoring and counseling training. I am passionate about education and helping others succeed. My goal is to find ways to incorporate different learning styles into various activities to ensure everyone understands their material rather than just be told to learn it. With any of my past or future experience, I hope to make a big step towards my goal and know that expanding what I know can be accomplished. For example, in my University (University of California-Davis), I learn how to care for animals, network, write journalism articles and creative pieces, and most importantly, teach others various subjects. I am eager to learn, adapt, engage, and, most of all, be a great tutor.

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC) and am beginning my PhD this fall! I have always had a passion for writing as I believe it is a form of expression. Along with all the writing I have done for myself, I have also assissted friends and family in writing college essays, essay homework assignments, and even editing essays. I currently am working on writing some research papers (some of which have preprints and are in preparation for publication). I have helped write essays in an English setting and scientific setting over a variety of age groups. I am eager to help spread my passion for writing and want to help students hone their writing skills! I believe it is important to engage with students and create an open learning environment and create an organized plan in which they feel like they are learning and gaining experience!

I finished my high school in Hong Kong, now I am studying in ELAC with biochemistry major. I have experienced the eastern and the western teaching style, eastern one is more like exam oriented and the western one is more focusing on the concept. But I think those two elements should make a balance. In my class, I will combine those two elements, you will learn the concept and the skills when taking the exam.

California Educational Centers
School, Learning Center
|
In 1991, Brian Tom's seedling educational center, Cerritos Education Center, consisted of a one-room homework lab, a used van, and a staff of 5 employees.
Today, the educational services company has transformed to become California Educational Centers Inc., or CEC, now boasting several contracts with school districts, valued community relationships and a staff of more than 100, including credentialed teachers, college graduate and undergraduate students, who reach out year-round to all students. CEC is proud to receive continued support from the community, through partnerships with institutions like the California Chess Academy, Chick-Fil-A, Elephant Bar Restaurant, Network for a Healthy California and Project APPLE.
While the facility and the student base has certainly grown and changed over the years, the principle behind the company remains the same. The vision was, and still is, for an educational center with 3 core values: safety, education and fun! Together these components, along with the mission statement, "to help each student reach his/her highest academic and social potential"brings to life an educational center whose unique environment inspires academic and social success for its students.
Founded in 1991. We work with 5 School Districts.
CEC strives to guarantee academic and social success for its students. CEC continues to be at the forefront of education, constantly developing new programs and curriculum designed to inspire every aspect of a childs mind, and utilizing the latest in educational technology in its multimedia computer lab, Vision Learning Labs.
As the company has grown, so has the diversity of its clientele. CEC's goal is to make its educational services available to all students, of all backgrounds. With this goal in mind, CEC has worked hard to offer special year-round discounts to make CEC's work with each family's own budget.
Even though he is legally blind, Brian Tom has a clear vision to educate others and is motivated to share this vision. From the very start of his journey, which began with his diagnosis of glaucoma, to his present achievements, four highly respected companies, Brian and his staff have maintained their devotion to education and continue to provide students with a visionary path to success! California Educational Centers continues to be an integral part of the neighboring community fueled in large part to our staff's dedication and enthusiasm towards student achievement!

I have been learning Japanese, in a school setting, for three years. I have learned outside of school through various apps and friends. I have maintained a 4 .0 (sometimes 4 .5)gpa throughout all of middle and high school. Last year, I helped a japanese foreign exchange student with every subject. Throughout the school years, many students have asked me for assistance with their homework- I guess you could say I've been tutoring for free! So, I thought I would start getting paid to do something I love. I also offer childcare services for 0-12 years old.

I am a freshman at UCLA as a biochemistry major! I have been a volunteer tutor at my local middle school and a paid tutor at my local tutoring center. Through both of these tutoring experiences, I have helped many students succeed in their classes through breaking down complex concepts so that they are easily understandable yet still thoroughly grasped. Everyone has different ways of learning, so I try to get an idea of how the student learns and tailor my teaching methods to help the student learn in the best way fit for them!

Hi! I am a junior in highschol, and I love helping kids with their homework, classwork, etc. I have gotten nothing but straight A's during my school career, and I am hoping to do the same for your child! Learning common core and th enew way of teaching can be difficult especially as common core is much more complicated than the way the parents were taught. Now, they want explanations, logicla reasoning, what I like to call the VANG approach, whihc is verbally algebraically numerically and graphically, especially when it comes to math. Learn your VANG approach, and it will promise your child an A on your child's next test or quiz! I look forward to chatting and teaching your child. Talk soon!!
