I specialize in both mathematics and and the language arts, so I can help you prepare for all sections of the SAT and ACT. I also help students prepare for the following exams: COMPASS, Accuplacer, ASVAB, PSAT, and more. In addition, I offer tutoring for high-school and college math classes (Algebra through Precalculus) as well as lessons for students of any age following the SAXON MATH homeschool series (especially Intermediate 3 through Advanced Math). I have an excellent track record--my students succeed!
I conduct all lessons from my home classroom via real-time video chats (FaceTime, WhatsApp, ooVoo, Skype), so your location is never a barrier to getting the help you need. No travel. No hassle. No worries about bad weather. Need to reschedule? Just send me a text, and I'll respond quckly.
For those of you who live in or near Traverse City, I am happy to provide an initial consultation in person. I also provide group workshops where feasible.

Hi!
I have experience tutoring high school students and traning creative professionals, as well as raising my own daughter to love reading, music, art, and being endlessly curious. My specialties include English language and literature, history, art history, and social sciences. I took AP English, History, Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus in high school all while playing two sports. In college I received academic, music, and art scholarships and graduated with Honor. I have tremendous empathy for learners of all ages and greatly value the guidance I received as a student. I welcome every opportunity to pay it forward and help students as a tutor.
My career as an artist and web designer has given me a love of humanities and culture. Soon after completing my bachelor's degree in graphic design, I started a "penny university" - an independent coffee shop - that hosted poetry readings, live music, art shows, and a high school philosophy club. For over a decade, I have independently studied and written about art history, ancient and European history, and languages including English, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. I have travelled several times to Europe, including London, Oxford, Rome, and Florence, and I have lived, worked, and studied in Chicago, Portland, and New York.

Hello!
My name is Grace and I am a high school graduate with a GPA of www.*** , in NHS, and Summa Cum Laude. While I am not a certified tutor, I am very good in math, english and some science. I am pretty flexible so contacting me and talking it out it the easiest. I can also help with younger students and their school work. With everything going on in the world and a lot of students virtual learning it is hard to fall behind and try to teach yourself or child new material. That is something I am willing to help with. I am a student looking to teach fellow students. I am completely comfortable with teaching all math through trig/pre-calc, all other subjects for K-8, and I also have experience with teaching art, art theory, and art history. I had experience with teaching friends and family and I am currently finding ways to practice my teaching skills with students outside of my friends and family. My main goal in tutoring is to give students the skills and knowledge they need to achieve whatever dreams they may have!

I have over 100+ clinical hours in the classroom working one-on-one with students as well as teaching a lesson to an entire class. I have lots of experience working with students of all levels and work very hard at perfecting my craft. My goal is to be able to make all students solid problem solvers not just in math but in all aspects of life. Grades do not mean everything and they do not determine whether you will be successful in life what is important is learning. For some students getting a C in math is like getting an A. I want all the students I work with to achieve to the best of their abilities.

I recently graduated from Texas A&M with a PhD in neuroscience. There, I unofficially tutored undergraduated and graduate students in a variety of biology subjects, primarily neuroscience, anatomy, and histology. Before that, in college, I was a biology tutor specializing in introductory biology, molecular biology, microbiology, anatomy, and physiology.
In addition to science and biology, I love helping people learn to read and develop their language skills. Reading is a beautiful and integral part of interacting with the world around us, and I enjoy patiently guiding people of all ages into a greater understanding of the written word.
