Hi! I am new to the Harrisonburg community as I have just began my first year at James Madison University! College is expensive and I am looking for some tutoring jobs to help me pay for school. I was a straight A student in high school and tutored in my hometown for four years, so I have experience with all age groups and all subjects! I am open to negotiating times and prices for work. Please call/text me at tel: *** if you are interested! I would love to help!
Thank you!!
I am a graduate of Duquesne University, with a BA in Political Science (Law & Politics concentration) and English Literature. I recently committed to Gonzaga School of Law and will be moving to Spokane, Washington in August of 2020. Some highlights of my undergraduate career are:- A founding member of the Duquesne Honors College Student Advisory Committee- An alumna of Duquesne in Dublin study abroad program (Spring 2018)- Former chapter president of Pi Sigma Alpha, a national political science honor society- Former secretary and bylaws committee member of Alpha Mu chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi I am a first-generation college graduate as well as the first person in my family to attend law school. Everything I do, I do to repay the hard work of my parents and be a good example for my younger siblings. I enjoy spending time with my family and reading any book I can get my hands on. I am currently working on my own fantasy story and count fiction writing as one of my passions.
I am looking to share my expertise and experience with students of all ages! I am engaging and have experience using different studying techniques for a wide array of subjects. My specialties include classic British literature, American politics, international relations, as well as general world and American history.
I have taken Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Math analysis (pre-calculus), Calculus, AP Calculus AB (5/5 on AP test), and Statistics. I helped tutor a student in Algebra 2 while taking Calculus and she was able to do better in class after the extra help she received. I work well with upper-level students who need a little extra help understanding more advanced concepts. I am also able to help students to prepare for final exams and AP tests as stated before I scored a 5/5 on my AP calculus test. As for a background of my education, I graduated 6 of 148, with a GPA of 4,24. I am currently in college studying Engineering with intent to pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering. My prices are negotiable and I am willing to work with schedules as best as I can. If you have any questions feel free to email me and I will respond as soon as I can.
Geometry, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics. I can help with all high school and college STEM subjects. I have helped a lot of students. I am a chemical engineer and have lots of Math and Science tutoring experience. My students do well.
I am a man of philosophy, teaching world history better than your old raggedy teacher that talks about politics every 2 seconds like stfu, but I digress you will not regret having me as your tutor. Only the most elegant person could relate. TOP NOTCH.

Lower hourly rates for scheduled regular sessions. ***@*** or Skype: amyspal tel: *** All hours are available to any www.*** ; Although any Science Fair may be cancelled, doing a project to share online will still be possible for those with initiative.
I started tutoring in high school as a volunteer in my community and quickly became attached to it. I helped elementary school students with English and vocabulary and middle school students with Math subjects like Geometry and Pre-Algebra. It later became my first job experience as I made my tutoring lessons private. I enjoy seeing students grasp concepts they used to struggle with because of my assistance.
I currently work at Life-Steps Daycare, previously was an assistant coach for Butler's varsity track and field team, and I have peer tutored many times in the past. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I'm working with new students who are in High School or below. I like to usually set down with both the parents and the student to talk about what might be some major concerns that they might have. And try to start off by reviewing what they already know and work from there.
When I'm working with college students. I will usually talk to them about their majors and what they are planning on doing in the future to try and relate to them the best I can.
No matter what age group I'm working with. I'm always trying to find ways to relate what they like to science so they can link positive things to the subject at hand
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a Biology Major at Zane State College. I work with students one on one and in groups. To help break down the chapter subjects that are being asked of them to understand.
I'm a Regional and a State Judge for The Ohio Academy of Science. Where I got to learn and question the projects that the middle schoolers- high schoolers presented.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle school
High School
Traditional College students
Non-Traditional College Students
Kids and adults with IEP's and other accommodations
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Even If something seems hard. There is always another way of learning it. Don't stop because you don't understand it the first try.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is it the coursework or just the teaching method you don't understand when being explained something.
Hello! My name is Samiah, and I am a former medical student looking to change career paths and follow my passion for teaching. I would love to work with you! School was a strong-suit of mine growing up, and I was recruited while in high school to work as a peer tutor, mostly in math (all levels up to Calculus BC). I loved it so much that in college, I worked as a Health and Science instructor in inner city schools through a non-profit organization. I also created my own tutoring program with three other star students. Often times, I also helped with writing, editing essays, and reviewing resumes. My passion for teaching and tutoring didn't stop there though! In medical school, I also worked as a Summer Camp Counselor for a STEM focused camp, helping to develop the science curriculum and implementing it as a counselor. I also worked as a Meditation/Mindfulness course instructor for school age students. These experiences all gave me the qualifications to work as a tutor and a teacher for your needs! In general I think my added experience as a counselor and a medical professional has developed my patience and empathy, which I think are important qualities in an effective educator.
