I would love to work with your child! I have 18 years of experience as a special education teacher and 13 as the mom of a child with high functioning autism. I can understand your struggles from multiple angles. I am a creative educator who uses data to drive my instruction and often think outside of the box when instructing students. I also utilize visuals a lot in my instruction and really enjoy working with students who just need additional time and attention to understand subjects.

My Philosophy: While teaching, I feel that it is necessary to share my gifts and talents in the classroom as well as with others who may need extra help. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and helping kids see their maximum potential in their learning. I want to continue tutoring throughout the summer as well as into the school year. This area of education is crucial to me, and I want to make sure that the kids I work with understand the content better as to when they had started working with me. My Tutoring Experience: I have worked with children from 1st-3rd grade in all subject areas. I have worked with 4th-8th graders on study skills to prepare them or help them succeed in both middle school (6th-8th) or high school (9th-12th). I have worked with students in middle school in almost all subject areas, including but not limited to: English, writing, social studies, science, and religion. Tutoring and COVID-19: In these times of uncertainty, it has become clear to me that many parents are not comfortable with their children returning to the classroom. Therefore, I would like to offer my services regardless if a student is attending school regularly, as in face to face or if they are going to be engaging in remote learning (i. e. virtual). I understand the reality that many parents have full-time jobs and can't take on an entirely new job: becoming their child's full-time teacher. I know it is common for many young children to become easily distracted, thus it will be my job to guide individuals through their virtual schooling and keep them on track. Additionally, I am flexible about where you would want tutoring to take place. For instance, I can come to you, you can come to me, or we can use a platform such as Zoom to ensure your child is getting what they need.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from the Fall of 2015 to the Spring of 2019. I hold a bachelor's in English with a minor in political science. I worked for the Carolinian, UNCG's newspaper, for two years, serving on the Sports, Features and News staffs. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, preferably American literature, but I have a soft spot for British literature, especially early Shakespeare.

In 2013,the founding educators of Piedmont Online Institute provided the vision, leadership, and a portion of the initial funding for the incorporation of The Piedmont Online Institution, a distance-learning institution in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded for the purpose of providing a pathway for success and leadership for adult learners. The focus is to bring about a quality distance-learning adult career institution. The institute focused on providing adults with a convenient and quality online learning environment to meet their career education and professional development goals. Piedmont Online Institute realized that adults need convenient online learning services to meet their professional development needs, and to be able to acquire academic credentials in a format that would limit the interference in their already demanding lives. Hi, my name is Danielle Z. and I am a senior at UNCG! I was a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education for 3 years and I am now studying Media Studies. My heart has always been with teaching children, but I switched majors when the double major became too much to handle! When I graduate in May 2020, I will then return to the education program and work on my Teaching Licensure! I look forward to working with you and your children!

I have 12 years of experience as a teacher and tutor. I believe in finding new and innovative methods of teaching to help students succeed. Each student is unique and what may work for one may not work for another, that is why I take my time to ensure I prepare lessons that are appropriate for each student individually that will help him/her develop the skills needed to improve in class. I have experience working with different age groups and with students with learning disabilities. I have a passion for teaching. I believe every student has the ability to succeed. Sometimes we just need the extra help and someone to care and believe in us to show us the way. I want to continue to be that person for students, someone they can lean on, and help them in their journey to success.
