I have more than twelve thousand hours of experience teaching the English, Hindi and Urdu languages and am always excited to work with new students. When teaching I always strive to be well-prepared, patient and adaptive to each individual's needs and I am comfortable working with students using both communicative as well as more grammar-based teaching www.*** addition to general language teaching, I also specialize in test preparation classes for the TOEFL, IELTS and OPIc English proficiency tests. I also work with Hindi and Urdu students who are preparing for foreign service exams in the US or www.*** earned my TESOL certification from Seattle University in 2008 and am currently working on a Masters in Teaching with an emphasis on English Language Learning (ELL). I think what sets me apart as an English language teacher is the fact that I have become fluent in second languages myself and know what it's like to live in an entirely different www.*** Hindi and Urdu studies began in 2006 at the University of Washington where I was given a strong foundation in the pronunciation and grammar of the languages. Four intensive quarters of study there was followed by the American Institute of Indian Studies' (AIIS) Advanced Hindi Language Program in Jaipur, India where I did two intensive, advanced-level programs back-to-back. I was then hired by AIIS as the first-ever non-native speaker to teach in their Basic Hindi www.*** 2009, I cofounded a language school in New Delhi (India), which has become a world class place of language learning. I gained more than 10 thousand hours of in-class language instruction experience there, working with students of all ages and backgrounds from dozens of countries. After living and teaching in India for eight years I returned to Seattle with my wife and www.*** am generally available for classes between 8am - 8pm for in-person or online classes. I believe I could teach most subjects up to the high school level. My ideal student would be self-motivated hungry types who are looking less for help with their textbook and more someone who will challenge by asking out of the box questions that really make you think. Learning to think is a premium when information is so easily available.
