I am freshman college student who has a love for tutoring! I have been tutoring since my first year of Highschool where I helped tutor my peers and classmates on my own time and was also part of an afterschool tutoring program at my school for 4 years. I have always had the love for going to school and learning! Being able to help others improve in a subject is one of my favorite things to see in my part and I hope you will consider me to be able to help you! I am a very positive individual who is committed to helping you advance and improve on your goals! Thank you!
I am a full-time student. I tutor in the subject math. I tutor in Elementary School Math, prealgebra, and Algebra 1. I strive to make sure students understand the material that is being given to them and are ahead of what they are learning. I help with homework as well as give a lesson plan. I am flexible with my time and the price of each tutoring session.
I have taught two students before, one for Spanish and the other for math. I can teach students of all ages, and I also have experience being a TA at a nearby Chinese school. I have also worked as a volunteer for a Microsoft program that focuses on teaching kids how to code. I've maintained a high GPA for all 4 years, and I have also participated in a host family program in Japan for 3 weeks, so I am very familiar and passionate about the language. I am a native speaker of both English and Chinese as well.
I am a current junior at Portola High and I am currently enrolled in Calculus BC. I have been tutoring at my high school for the past 2 years. I have also gone to UCI COSMOS, one of the top stem programs, to learn more about math and science.
I enjoy working with people who are eager to learn, and more importantly, eager to pass tests. School is often a difficult setting, but with the right tools, you can succeed. I offer a variety of skills to not only guide students through problems, but to further deepen their understanding and have them discover how to apply new concepts in the future. Although I especially enjoy teaching calculus topics, I am able to tutor for any math subjects, including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and more. I use interesting and engaging methods to explain difficult ideas to those in need. I have experience making abstractions clear for countless friends and family members, and I look forward to continuing with new people.

Here, our services go over at a slow pace to ensure that our students understands the curriculum. Our teaching is very flexible, allowing the child to go slower in difficult subjects while challenging previously known knowledge. Your child will be able to excell in no time!
For my math students, I hope to make sure they understand. Anybody can memorize something, but to understand is just exceeding that standard. I'll begin by giving a simple problem in most instances that I'll have them look over and use their logical systemic approach to examine with. They'll use their logic to examine, and if they get it right, great! If they make mistakes, it's great too, because now we can go over it during the lesson to show what to do and why!
For my English students, I want them to use their imagination. Books and writings are based off imagination, not knowledge. You can take as much information as possible, but if you have no way to imagine how you'll present that, then it won't work. My teaching in this subject will go over this, and I hope I can improve their skills throughout the course.
I have worked with a family member who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), so I did work with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapists for about three years, but I have no problem working with any other students.
I feel very happy to teach, so I do not hope for mush. I wish to mainly teach online through Zoom primarily so that I can show the work since I do not wish to use my source of transportation to travel many distances as I'm a minor. I would set a standard of twelve dollars an hour, the minimum for minimum wages in California.
I am a freshman at UCLA as a biochemistry major! I have been a volunteer tutor at my local middle school and a paid tutor at my local tutoring center. Through both of these tutoring experiences, I have helped many students succeed in their classes through breaking down complex concepts so that they are easily understandable yet still thoroughly grasped. Everyone has different ways of learning, so I try to get an idea of how the student learns and tailor my teaching methods to help the student learn in the best way fit for them!
My experience includes being a peer tutor for people in my classes for two years, tutoring the ages of 7-14 for one and a half years, and serving as a peer counselor assisting peers in college applications which required tutoring and counseling training. I am passionate about education and helping others succeed. My goal is to find ways to incorporate different learning styles into various activities to ensure everyone understands their material rather than just be told to learn it. With any of my past or future experience, I hope to make a big step towards my goal and know that expanding what I know can be accomplished. For example, in my University (University of California-Davis), I learn how to care for animals, network, write journalism articles and creative pieces, and most importantly, teach others various subjects. I am eager to learn, adapt, engage, and, most of all, be a great tutor.
