I am a graduate student at NYU and am currently in the process of obtaining my masters in applied quantitive research methods. I enjoy teaching greatly and have worked with students of all age groups, from elementary school students to adults. I have been tutoring for six years and assisted more than 100 students with high school and college level Mathematics, Chinese, and preparing for standardized tests such as SAT and ACT. I have had incredible success working with students in the past through tailoring my lessons to the student and matching it to their learning style. Through assessing the skill-level of each student, I am able to present the material in the most effective manner.
I attended an international school in China and moved to the United States at the age of 9. My multicultural heritage gave me an edge in learning languages, allowing me to easily pick up Spanish in middle school. Being well versed in Chinese and English makes me a knowledgeable tutor for both Chinese international students wishing to improve their English and American students that desire to learn Chinese. My years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics allows me to avoid common misconceptions that students make and develop explanations that students can understand easily. I enjoy showing students how different topics relate to each other. By doing so, students are able to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics. A strong Mathematics foundation will greatly benefit students for the rest of their academic career.
My specialties are the SAT and ACT exams. I, myself, have received a 2350 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, so I am more than qualified to tutor for these tests. Having received perfect scores on the Math portion of the SAT, ACT, GRE, and SAT Math subject tests, I can show students the commonly asked questions and contents to prepare for on the SAT and ACT Math.

I am a senior at the Lawrence Woodmere Academy in Woodmere and live in Lynbrook. I have a 4,72 GPA (of 4,00) and a 1580 SAT, am applied to Stanford and applying to Ivies. In terms of AP courses, I am currently enrolled in AP English Language and Composition, AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, and AP Physics C: Mechanics. In the past, I took AP World History, AP United States History, and AP English Literature and Composition, and scored a 5 on all three. I am very proficient in maths, sciences, English, and Spanish, especially up to and including the junior year level, including PSAT and SAT prep. I am a PSAT/NMSC Commended National Merit Scholar and have contributed to the Lynbrook Chapter of the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. I tutored middle school during freshman year and I now tutor elementary to eleventh grade. I am the oldest of seven boys and two girls, and I have ample experience with child relations, care, and even babysitting. I also train for basketball.
