I take great pride in being a lifelong learner. Since early childhood, I have benefited from the good fortune of being around others who have inspired me to learn by wondering about the world around me. When I first meet your student, we will spend a few minutes talking about what they are studying, what is challenging them in that course, and what interests they possess. Every aspect of our culture from entertainment to the sciences has a story. Helping a student focus on those stories can provide them the boost they need in subjects like History, American Government, and several others across the typical, 6-12th grade social students curriculum. I also have spent more than 20 years working as a broadcast journalist, taking complex informational chaos, and transforming it into informative conversation. If you are struggling as a writer or public speaker, I can help build your confidence. No matter what subject I assist you with, I intend to help you grow as a critical thinker. Almost every subject we encounter in school and every challenge in life requires the essential art of critical thinking.
In my past tutoring experiences, I have worked with student who are worried about being sent to summer school because of a looming F, only to have them raise their grades to Bs and As. For many of them, I have witnessed them develop a keener interest and mastery of a subject that once made them feel isolated, intimidated, and terrified. Let me help light your path through a touch class.

All of the subjects I tutor I have exceeded phenomenally. Whether it is volleyball, a sport I have played for 4 years now, or public speaking which takes part in my daily activism; you can be confident that you'll be getting your money's worth. I am a high school senior currently about to graduate. I have experience in tutoring my selected topics as well as teaching them. I have successfully tutored my peers and have seen them achieve many of the academic and athletic goals they had aspired to reach.

I'm a freelance university and community college instructor with over 15 years experience teaching and tutoring various subjects––from English literature and essay writing to creative writing, the humanities (history, philosophy, social sciences, and theology), and public speaking. I've taught at my alma mater New Jersey City University, as well as William Paterson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Berkeley College, Bergen Community College and Hudson County Community College, and I've given lectures at Montclair State University, Columbia University, and Parson's School of Design. My own writing (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction) has been published in dozens of print and online publication, and I have given a TED talk on fundraising based on my book, Crowdfunding for Filmmakers. I'm looking to put my skills to good use tutoring middle to high school students (ages 13 - 18), college students, and professionals. Workshops and classes are also available, too––just let me know what you need and I'm sure I'll be able to oblige!

Over 12 years coaching Theatre and 5 years tutuoring in English, Writing and Public Speaking.
Thespian Journey offers private coaching, consulting and group classes to individuals interested in pursuing a career in Arts and Entertainment. I also provide private tutoring in the academic areas of Creative Writing, Essay Writing, Public Speaking and English.
We work with ages 5-18 years old or those at a K-12 educational level.**Due to COVID-19, class sizes will be no greater than 10 students and on-line private coaching is now available.
What makes us unique is that we build long-term relationships with our students, catering our services to meet their individual needs and goals. Our focus is on helping our students every step of the way, from their first play audition in grade school to their first college audition at an arts-focused conservatory or university.
From a technical acting perspective for both stage and film, we teach our students the basics of theatre etiquette, stage direction, blocking, hitting your mark, audition techniques and assist with acting resume/headshot formatting.
From a theatrical acting perspective, we meet individuals where they are in their artistic process and help them develop from that point forward. Through physical movement, monologue and scene analysis, we help students step outside their boundaries and tap into their unique talents. We help students select monologues and scenes, learn how to dig deeper and connect with a character, develop that character and be able to confidently perform in front of others.
We also assist those students who want to write their own performance pieces.
From a Consulting perspective, we work with high school age performers to help them decide on the perfect path for their thespian journey by assisting in college selection and preparation for college auditions. We also work with actors who are ready to seek agency representation in their local markets.
We work with students with both dramatic and comedic emphasis and those interested in stage and/or commercial, television and film.
Our model is built upon the belief that together we are better, which is why we take pride in partnering with our students on their Thespian Journey toward success.

Hello everyone! My name is Abigail S. and I would like to extend educational services to families who may be experiencing difficulties during the 2020-21 school www.*** ;Many health departments around the country have recommended all districts begin the school year remotely, and this can cause some problems for many families who may have essential workers in the household, multiple students, or create fear and worry for parents who do not feel they are cut out to help their students succeed in the way a teacher cannot replace. Whatever the reason, I would like to help!
I am a 2019 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Music Performance. I am a substitute teacher for Tacoma Public Schools and was intending on working with them again this school year, however that may not be the case. I also work as a production manager and educator for an area youth theatre program. I teach clarinet and saxophone lessons on the side.
