Hello everyone! My name is Abigail S. and I would like to extend educational services to families who may be experiencing difficulties during the 2020-21 school www.*** ;Many health departments around the country have recommended all districts begin the school year remotely, and this can cause some problems for many families who may have essential workers in the household, multiple students, or create fear and worry for parents who do not feel they are cut out to help their students succeed in the way a teacher cannot replace. Whatever the reason, I would like to help!
I am a 2019 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Music Performance. I am a substitute teacher for Tacoma Public Schools and was intending on working with them again this school year, however that may not be the case. I also work as a production manager and educator for an area youth theatre program. I teach clarinet and saxophone lessons on the side.

Hi, I’m Colleen!
I recently graduated cum laude from Princeton with a BA in Sociology. I'm open to traditional tutoring for grades 3-12 as well as providing oversight while your kids partake in virtual schooling. I'm patient and willing to try a variety of different approaches, as I understand that we don't all learn the same way!
Details:
-One-on-one or groups up to 3. I can work directly your child, or can instead provide oversight and guidance as they navigate distanced learning.
-I believe communication is important! I’ll provide informal written progress reports to parents every few weeks so that we’re on the same page.
-Open to virtual tutoring on the platform of your choice. If you’re in or near Capitol Hill, Seattle and think in-person tutoring would be best, let’s talk-- maybe we can come up with a safe arrangement!
-My schedule is flexible!
About me:
When I was in third grade, I delighted in creating homework packets for my younger sister and parents. Now, I am a recent Princeton grad with a major in Sociology and a minor in Spanish Language & Culture. I have experience tutoring one-on-one lower-level math (fifth and ninth grade), and always loved watching a concept finally click when we drew a visual representation of the problem together. I have also volunteered as a homework helper for an after-school program in which I worked across a variety of subjects, mostly with first and fifth graders, and have mentored a local eighth grader through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Related experience involves living with a three-year old (who honestly tutored ME in Spanish) when I studied abroad two years ago, and facilitating entry into college life for first-year Princeton students through guided conversations and community service as an orientation leader.
