Crimson Coaching provides tutoring services to students aged 10 to adult in ALL academic subjects, for ANY standardized test or college / post-graduate application. Crimson Coaching's clients have been accepted to the nation's top independent schools, liberal arts colleges, and Ivy League universities. Founded by Harvard graduate Dominique P. in 2014, Crimson Coaching offers private and group instruction in person throughout the New York metropolitan area and online tutoring to clients worldwide. We differ from other tutoring and test prep companies in our highly personalized attention to our students, from our unique diagnoses of their needs to our prompt, detailed feedback to parents and adult students. Crimson Coaches also accommodate students’ schedules by tutoring evenings, weekends, and online whenever necessary. We offer time management, organization and study skills training, and stress reduction coaching to children and adults. Our Founder and Head Tutor, Dr. P., is also a certified yoga teacher and combines this expertise with her 10 years of classroom teaching and 30 years of tutoring experience to change the lives of busy families in profound ways.

Hi, I have been tutoring math and science for the past 5 years and I love helping students understand concepts they previously struggled with. I have helped students of various age groups achieve their academic goals, from young as 7-8 year olds to college students. I love helping students feel enthusiastic about the topics I teach.
I cover topics such as:
applied college math, statistics, probability, calculus, precalculus, algebra, trigonometry, SAT math, SHSAT logic, SAT II Math, etc.

in science: I cover biology, chemistry, physics, general sciences (k-12)
My rate is $50 an hour, and I have specialty programs for long term customers, just ask.

I offer lessons in a couple different styles, depending on the goals of the student
- Test Prep (SAT, SHSAT, Regents, finals): we will identify weak points and maximize the student's score as quickly as possible. If a student starts out with minimal knowledge of the material, we can cover the basics much faster than a traditional classroom. I would recommend 2-hour sessions to start
- Through Learning: ideal if we start early during a course. The student will understand all the material covered in class in greater depth, and be slightly ahead of his fellow classmates. I'll also show how the material connects to more advanced or applied topics, that are rarely shown in class (but which become very useful later in a student's career)
- For fun/for a project: more geared towards a computer science project. If the student has an idea for a project, we'll cover the strategy for implementing it, and we'll go over any tricky parts. The student will also learn a variety of tools to make coding more efficient, such as IDE's, debuggers, version control, Linux commands, etc. depending on the project

Developed curricula for training programs, civil-service exam preparation courses, etc. as well as for after-school science clubs and summer www.*** professional career was primarily in software development and management, at Brookhaven National Lab (BNL), Grumman, Robotic Vision, American Science, and other Long Island companies, and as a software consultant and website www.*** am also a professional writer, with thousands of pages published, and I currently host two weekly radio shows on a local radio station. Since my early retirement from BNL in 1999, I have increased my teaching and tutoring, as well as my professional writing and radio-broadcasting activities.
