My name is Malika G.! I am currently an elementary school teacher in the Houston area! My passion is teaching and working with kids. I have tremendous experience with children. My first job was a swim instructor where I gave swim lessons to all ages. I then became a Dance Instructor where I taught Bollywood dance to children ages 5-15. I was also a Montessori teacher for 2 years and was responsible for children ages 0-5 years. In addition to all of this, I am the eldest out of my cousins and siblings in my family and have pretty much taken up responsibility of helping care for them since a very young age. I look forward to helping your child achieve your academic goals and am excited to see how much they can learn and grow! :)

I am a sophomore at Creighton University studying Finance and International Business and minoring in Spanish. I have been tutoring students for about 2 years now, and have worked with student of all ages and abilities. Some students just need help studying for a test, and some need help in catching up to their classmates. More often than not, all it takes is a little bit of 1 on 1 attention and detailed instructions for a student to succeed. I have lots of experience working with students with learning disabilities such as ADHD, dyscalculia, dyslexia and have used evidence based practices to help these students succeed. On top of being a full time college student, I am also an intern at a local company, so I have academic and practical uses and experiences for a lot of the mathematical processes elementary-high school students are learning.
I also offer extensive ACT prep, and have lots of experience with standardized tests as well (considering I took the ACT 4 times..YIKES). If your student wants to improve their ACT score, improve their grades, or just improve their overall understanding of a subject, I would love to help.

I am a passionate math teacher who loves to watch students excel. My main focus is to ensure that the students I interact with gain the skills needed to make learning easier. The greatest struggle I see with students today is they allow themselves to get discouraged when the learning becomes difficult as so many of them have had no issues up to that point. Students need constant reassurance that they can overcome any obstacle with enough work and effort.
I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a double major in Mathematics and Secondary Education. I spent so much time and effort while in school learning not only from my teachers but from every internship I was able to take. I focused as much as possible on developing the skills to transfer my knowledge to the future generations.
I have taught at a number of high schools in Oklahoma and currently find myself teaching at Prue. I am qualified to teach AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Pre-AP Algebra 2, and many more courses. I have taught almost every level of math that a high school student can take at this point, but always look for ways to continue pushing myself to be able to reach more students.

My teaching method is tailored to every student’s learning style. I can give lectures, help with homework, or work problems alongside students.
To learn something it is helpful to be exposed to the material in many different ways and formats; This helps to strengthen neural pathways so the information is easy to recall and utilize. Moreover, I try to answer questions and teach using many different mediums --visual, auditory, and analogical. As a tutor, I am always learning during every session about how to better serve students’ needs to ensure utmost satisfaction.

Hello, my name is Serkan www.*** I have graduated from a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in San Jose State University and later obtained my master’s degree in physical chemistry in San Francisco State University. As part of a chemistry program, I have also taken a sufficient amount of advanced math and physics courses (up to 2 years).
Prior to my graduate program, I worked as a tutor for 1–2 years obtaining nearly 100 hours of one-on-one tutoring with high school and college students on subjects including chemistry, physics, and advanced math subjects. Much of my tutoring experience has been through Wyzant and other tutoring agencies. I really enjoyed the experience and have improved the grades and performances of many of my students.
During my graduate program, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA) for 2–3 years, in which my supervisor was the dean of the department. This job involved me teaching laboratory sections for general chemistry courses with up to 30 students in some classes. I helped prepare my students for midterms, finals, and supervised them through the conceptual and hands-on experiences of experimental chemistry on a bi-weekly basis.
I generally tutor in a way to get my students to really enjoy the subject they are learning and try to get them to think creatively towards solving problems. I realize that of one of the greatest hurdles students have in learning physical sciences (e. g. chemistry and physics) and math subjects is the lack of visual teaching to help them connect complex concepts in their minds. In order to overcome this, I generally take a more visual approach to get students to be able to “see” the concepts in their minds. That way, students obtain a deeper understanding of the material, which not only helps them to pass the class, but also gives them insight of the subject that will help them in future coursework.
I offer tutoring in chemistry (just about all kinds except biochemistry), college physics, and math courses (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics). I really encourage students who are interested in improving their grades in these subjects to contact me. If you are patient and willing to do the work, I promise I can help you boost your grades and improve your performances in your classes. My first meeting is always a FREE consultation session. If you feel that I am not the person for you, there’s no charge on your part. I hope we can work together to improve your coursework and help you pass those classes.
Hope to see you soon!

My name is Hector T. and I am a previous 2nd grade educator with a love of learning! I truly believe that an excellent education is the foundation of a happy life and I am fully capable of helping your student realize that. A problem occurs in education when we teach a lesson in isolation. I will spend time making connections with your student so they emerge seeing the greater picture that is made up of puzzle pieces they have placed! I aim to know my student’s goals and highlight that every academic accomplishment is one step closer. I currently hold a certification in pk-8th education, and I'm confident I could help a student improve academically!
What you will get from me:
1) A thoughtful lesson: I will require prior notice on desired lesson and topic so I can come prepared to execute
2) Progress updates: I will personally email you progress updates on how your student does on exit assessment (every lesson will have one.)
3) Extension opportunities: As seen fit, I will provide extension work for your student to complete to practice skills!
Ultimately, I want you to be assured that I will care for your student just as I cared for students in my own classroom. You can be assured that I will take pride in contributing to their overall growth and success!
I hope to hear from you soon!
Hector T.

Hello! Let's start with a bit about my www.***
From 1994-2014, I worked in various US hospitals, where my responsibilities frequently included providing nursing care to Level 1 Trauma and Emergency Unit patients. Most of the patients I took care of suffered from the following: multiple systemic failures or emergencies, ones that included strokes, cardiac rest, poisonings, overdoses, car accidents, head injuries, sexual assaults, gunshot wounds, and stabbings.
I assessed patients and provided necessary and prescribed treatments and medications. I provided lifesaving interventions as part of the multidisciplinary Emergency & Trauma department protocol.
In 2000, I became officially specialized in Emergency & Trauma Medicine through three-part state certified exam. I also became and remained certified in ACLS, PALS and CCRN as well.
While I loved every moment of my practice, unfortunately a savage act of workplace violence brought my ETC career to an early www.*** ;
At first I was crushed, but shortly came to the decision to find a way to continue to help others with my www.*** ;
Three years prior I had began helping nursing students in my area prepare for their state board NCLEX examinations as a second occupatio. So now I began focus on that possibility in earnest. Back in nursing school, I had graduated at the top of my class. And the reasons? I was an excellent test taker, had great study skills and led a very successful independent study group.
So I returned to school and acquired the skills I felt were important that a good tutor should be able to offer her clientele, www.*** proofreading, editing, knowledge of the best research processes for any situation and document creation that included essays, term papers, etc.
But more importantly, I also developed my own strategy to breakdown, analyze and make the CORRECT choice for NCLEX, and subsequently created a study process/program to passing the entire NCLEX exam. And it is EXTREMELY successful--of the twenty-seven students who have completed my program, ALL TWENTY-SEVEN HAVE PASSED SUCCESSFULLY on their first attempt after completing my program.
I look forward to sharing more of my program's success story with you very www.*** ;

I do tutor in person and online. But I recommend that if we tutor in person to meet in a public place for the first time because its for safety reasons. I tutor math and english for middle schoolers and under. I am quite flexible with my schedule and open to most options. I will tutor you and also help with homework. I also will give prizes as we give pratice items for a little more motivation especially when working with the hyperactive children.

I enjoy teaching and sharing my passion for math and logic. I also love to see people be able to grow and learn in ways that they did not know that they could. There is also joy for me in learning as well because by teaching people I also get to learn and grow and get to grow a connection to the people that I am teaching. I am a college student pursuing a bachelors degree in computer science with a minor in mathematics. Math has always been a passion of mine, and I love the way numbers and calculations work to bring understanding to problems. I also have a lot of passion for teaching others and trying to help others achieve a better understanding of the material that they are studying along with helping them grow and appreciate the subject that I know and love.
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process with a new student is to get to know them and how they view the subject that they are working on. Whether they view it as a passion that just needs more help to fully develop, a burden to be overcome, or something else entirely. Once I have begun to know this information I like to begin by introducing the basic ideas around the subject or topic at hand to get a better grasp around the fundamentals. This helps me learn who the student is as a person and how they like to learn and interact with the subject so that the relationship is built and the way to approach the subject can be improved for each of the individual students
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a large background in mathematics. I am pursuing a mathematics minor and a computer science degree. I have taken up to Calculus III, linear algebra, and statistics at the college level. I have been at the top of my class throughout high school and college. math has always come easily to me, and I love to share and learn with people while improving my own skills.

I have 12 years of experience as a teacher and tutor. I believe in finding new and innovative methods of teaching to help students succeed. Each student is unique and what may work for one may not work for another, that is why I take my time to ensure I prepare lessons that are appropriate for each student individually that will help him/her develop the skills needed to improve in class. I have experience working with different age groups and with students with learning disabilities. I have a passion for teaching. I believe every student has the ability to succeed. Sometimes we just need the extra help and someone to care and believe in us to show us the way. I want to continue to be that person for students, someone they can lean on, and help them in their journey to success.

I have been studying music since 1981. I started learning music as every American child does (did) in Kindergarten. However, I may have been the unusual child, learning music. There was never a moment I stopped learning or practicing what I had learned. I started playing the Bb Clarinet in Beginning Band in the Forth grade (1986). In Fifth grade, I was promoted to Intermediate Band on Bb Clarinet (1987). In Sixth Grade, I was promoted into Advanced Band on Bb Clarinet (1988). By the time I was graduating from elementary school, upon the interview I had with the band direcor from the Junior High, I was invited to enroll in Symphonic Band. However, when I was promoted into Junior High, I wasn't able to get into Symphonic band, as I had hoped. The period I was offered to play in band was during the Beginning Band hour. So, I started playing the Flute in Seventh grade (1989). By the end of Seventh grade, I was awarded a letter. In Eigth grade, I was able to enroll back into Advanced Band on Flute (1990), again due to the availability in class scheduling. By the end of My Juinor High studies, I was again invited to enroll in Symphonic Band by the Highschool band director. However, in 1991, when I was promoted to Nineth grade. The only band hour I was offered to take was Beginning Band (again). This time I took up the Tenor Saxophone. By the end of my Tenth grade (1993), I was once again invited to enroll in Symphonic band by the new school band director. However, I started taking business classes the remaining two years of highschool (1994-1995). Although, I discontinued studying music in school, I continued self teaching and playing every day since. I started learning violin in 1996. In 2014 I joined my church's orchestra (2014). I have been staying current and conditioning my skills.
