Serkan Kabak
Tutor, Teacher, Instructor
|
Hello, my name is Serkan www.*** I have graduated from a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in San Jose State University and later obtained my master’s degree in physical chemistry in San Francisco State University. As part of a chemistry program, I have also taken a sufficient amount of advanced math and physics courses (up to 2 years).
Prior to my graduate program, I worked as a tutor for 1–2 years obtaining nearly 100 hours of one-on-one tutoring with high school and college students on subjects including chemistry, physics, and advanced math subjects. Much of my tutoring experience has been through Wyzant and other tutoring agencies. I really enjoyed the experience and have improved the grades and performances of many of my students.
During my graduate program, I worked as a teaching assistant (TA) for 2–3 years, in which my supervisor was the dean of the department. This job involved me teaching laboratory sections for general chemistry courses with up to 30 students in some classes. I helped prepare my students for midterms, finals, and supervised them through the conceptual and hands-on experiences of experimental chemistry on a bi-weekly basis.
I generally tutor in a way to get my students to really enjoy the subject they are learning and try to get them to think creatively towards solving problems. I realize that of one of the greatest hurdles students have in learning physical sciences (e. g. chemistry and physics) and math subjects is the lack of visual teaching to help them connect complex concepts in their minds. In order to overcome this, I generally take a more visual approach to get students to be able to “see” the concepts in their minds. That way, students obtain a deeper understanding of the material, which not only helps them to pass the class, but also gives them insight of the subject that will help them in future coursework.
I offer tutoring in chemistry (just about all kinds except biochemistry), college physics, and math courses (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and statistics). I really encourage students who are interested in improving their grades in these subjects to contact me. If you are patient and willing to do the work, I promise I can help you boost your grades and improve your performances in your classes. My first meeting is always a FREE consultation session. If you feel that I am not the person for you, there’s no charge on your part. I hope we can work together to improve your coursework and help you pass those classes.
Hope to see you soon!

Currently, I am finishing my fourth full year of teaching elementary school. I am a 5th grade special education teacher in an integrated co-teaching classroom. For two years, I previously taught grades 1-3, so I have experience working with younger and older elementary aged students. I am familiar with the curriculum across all elementary grades. Starting for the Summer 2018, I can easily accommodate schedules, as mine is very flexible and open.
I have taught elementary math for four and a half years. This past school year, I've had numerous PD's on elementary math. I work in small group and whole group settings during math, and differentiate instruction using manipulatives, visuals, and other ways to engage students.
This past year I have worked very closely with the reading teacher at my school, to improve both reading and writing in the classroom. Reading is heavily emphasized in the classroom, and is something the students practice every day. I use the practices of having both small groups, and whole class reading. I use a "I do" "we do" "you do" approach to reading, so students are able to see the model, practice as a class, and complete work independently.
Phonics is practiced closely in the younger grades, but still incorporated into my 5th grade lessons. For my lower students, I work both in small group and 1:1 settings to improve phonics and fluency. I do this by reading books, using flash cards, using illustrations, and charts.
Students practice spelling by using flash cards, illustrations, and participating in engaging and effective educational games.
I have an open schedule and am willing to accommodate any time during the week to meet.

I Know a student should study to increase their value, and grow.
Perseverance and having a vision are two qualities that a person should have to be great at the things they do. And two characteristics I possess and value dearly. They've help me, and still do help me, to be very proficient and have a love for mathematics and computer literacy.

Hello! I have been teaching chemistry for 2 years. Throughout college, I tutored other students in chemistry classes. I worked as a TA for a general chemistry class. I enjoy teaching because it is awesome to see how my students grow over time. It is so rewarding to see a student work hard and succeed because of that hard work. I believe that every student can achieve their learning goals, some just need a little extra support to get there.

I'm Rahul P.! I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Technology and specializing in Electronics Engineering. In college, I realized that I was enjoying the lessons. It was not due to they are, but, our professors made it happen. These professors were always engaging in the class, and, always gone the extra mile, when asked for additional help. It motivated me to share my personal knowledge and experience with our younger ones. I apply different tools like - 'Lesson plans, Worksheets, Quizzes', to make the class engaging and enjoyable. Then I give them extra time to solve their homework and practice by themselves. It varies from student to student and as per their needs.
I have over 5 years of tutoring experience with different kinds of students of different levels, ranging from K-12, up to engineering. Teaching the little ones requires extra care and patience. So, I give them additional help, so that, the class runs smoothly. I also help them in specific topics, in which, there may be lag, and students feel difficulty. I teach all the subjects of Electronics/Electrical Engineering. I teach Physics and Mathematics as well. I am a 5-star tutor.
As a tutor, I help in each and every concept. I will be their personal assistant. They are like budding flowers. I help them to grow their innocent mind. I am easy to reach, and, students and their parents are always welcome to contact me. Reaching out to me is easy and feel free to contact me for any additional questions or schedule a lesson. I am responsive and will reply in 3 hours.
