Experienced teacher with 10+ yrs. working with K-8 as a teacher, private tutor and Director of After School programs for school districts in Santa Barbara and Carpinteria, I have a master’s in child psychology w/a BA in Speech therapy & Audiology.
I have the desire, ambition, clinical experience and education w/expertise in students with ADHD, ADD, SED and behavior modification. Students who do well academically but have lost interest and lack motivation to complete assignments and study for tests.

I am Described as authentic and approachable. I pride myself on consistent student evaluations to assess and monitor progress from start to end of school year and strong communication with the parents by building trusting relationships with the entire family.

Hi! I'm currently a sophomore in college and working on my Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science. I'm looking to tutor students in elementary school, middle school, or high school. My all around strengths are Science (especially biology), English/ Language Arts, and History and I can tutor in math up to an 8th grade level. I would be thrilled to be your tutor!

Cheryl is a multi-passionate, life-long learner. Cheryl’s passion for education began as a young child, and she started helping in her own public school classrooms by the age of seven. Over the years, her experiences in education include tutoring, assisting, teaching, curriculum-creating, researching, editing, and now homeschooling/“unschooling” along with her own children. Her post-secondary studies brought her to Spain, Mexico, and Cuba, and she graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor’s Degree in Language Studies. She owned a successful tutoring business for several years before her first child was born. I enjoy working with people who are eager to learn, and more importantly, eager to pass tests. School is often a difficult setting, but with the right tools, you can succeed. I offer a variety of skills to not only guide students through problems, but to further deepen their understanding and have them discover how to apply new concepts in the future. Although I especially enjoy teaching calculus topics, I am able to tutor for any math subjects, including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and more. I use interesting and engaging methods to explain difficult ideas to those in need. I have experience making abstractions clear for countless friends and family members, and I look forward to continuing with new people.

I enjoy helping students with their school work. It is my pleasure to help them grow and improve their skills. I have helped students at school and I have not let them down to recieve a better understanding. I have lots of free time aftrer school to help students learn and catch up with their work. I have no problem helping students. My free time is will always be after four o'clock during the week days if anyone is interested for my help.

I finished my high school in Hong Kong, now I am studying in ELAC with biochemistry major. I have experienced the eastern and the western teaching style, eastern one is more like exam oriented and the western one is more focusing on the concept. But I think those two elements should make a balance. In my class, I will combine those two elements, you will learn the concept and the skills when taking the exam.
