Our one-on-one German lessons focus on each student’s needs and goals. The usual fee for our one-on-one lessons is $60 for a 60 minute lesson. This would include lessons at JacobiTeacher Downtown office Manhattan, NY.
For students who prefer private lessons at home or work, the fee may be higher depending on www.*** online lessons we use the video conferencing service "Zoom". You would not have to download it to attend online lessons with us! Because our schedule is flexible, we do not charge a cancellation fee. Our clients pay only for the personal lessons they actually attend!
Nico Jacobi holds a Master’s degree in teaching and education from the University of Cologne. He graduated in 2008 and taught German, Social Science, and Geography at Kurt-Tucholsky-Gesamtschule-Krefeld and Julius Leber Sekundarschule Berlin for the following seven years.
In June of 2015 he moved from Berlin to Manhattan, founded JacobiTeacher and started offering private German tutoring services in the NYC area for all levels and contexts: professional, personal, etc.
He studied under Professor Kersten Reich at University of Cologne, where he was influenced by the philosophies of John Dewey and constructivist teaching methods and uses a lot of these methods for his lessons.
What are your goals?
Our one-on-one German lessons focus on each student’s needs and goals. The following descriptions of learning levels will help you to classify your own level. They also help us organize the teaching process so that we can create useful material. While these levels are helpful guides, they are just suggestions; Our teachers are very flexible in their teaching and will make sure the student is reaching his or her goals.
Basic 1 Grammar:
The Basic 1 level focuses on the basic development of grammar skills. By the end of this level, students will be able to create everyday expressions and basic phrases. Students will build basic vocabulary and listening skills while developing a foundation in German grammar.
Basic 2 Listening / Speaking:
The Basic 2 level focuses on the development of listening and speaking skills. While developing these verbal skills, students will continue to build vocabulary and extend their grammar skills. By the end of this level, students will be able to understand German sentences and frequently used expressions related to common topics (e . g . very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
Advance:
The Advanced level focuses on the development of conversation and communication skills. Conversation topics are drawn from articles, movies, TV shows, culture, etc. During the lessons students will also extend their skills in grammar and vocabulary.
Konversation 1

Megan Nordle is a Professional Choreographer and Figure Skating Coach. She holds a BFA in Modern Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of The Arts. Megan was also titled Dance Masters of America’s Chapter 5 Teen Miss Dance of New England ’02, American Dance Awards Teen ’02, Miss Dance of America ’03, and Headliners National Miss Dance ’05. Combining her advanced dance skill with her family’s legacy of skating, Megan began her teaching career as a professional figure skating coach in ’06 at the young age of 16.
During her Senior year at UArts, Megan spent self produced a full-length show which featured entirely original choreography. The show premiered at the historical Arts Bank Theater in Center City Philadelphia on the famous Avenue of the Arts.
Megan was a part of the nEW Festival in ’08, working on Melanie Stewart’s ‘Kill Me Now’, featured in Philadelphia’s Fringe Festival 2009, and spent the summer of ’09 dancing with The Portland Ballet as a guest artist. From ’09-’10 she was a soloist with Philadelphia’s Contempra Dance Theatre.
Post graduation from UARTS, Megan was immediately hired as the Head Professor of Modern Dance at the Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School for Performing and Fine Arts, where she additionally taught Advanced Ballet and Pointe. Since then, she has been teaching skating and dancing to students of all ages and abilities: an aspect of her life which brings her true happiness!
Megan has had the pleasure of working with many esteemed choreographers such as Christine Cox (Artistic Director of ‘BalletX’), Ronen Koresh (Artistic Director of Koresh Dance Company), Silvana Cardell, Curt Haworth, and Christopher Huggins (Principle Dancer with Alvin Ailey), and was educated under the phenomenal guidance of Scott Jovovich (Joffery Ballet), Kim Bears Bailey (AD of Philadanco), Jennifer Binford-Johnson, Zane Booker, and Brian Sanders (Artistic Director of Philadelphia’s ‘JUNK’).

In 2013,the founding educators of Piedmont Online Institute provided the vision, leadership, and a portion of the initial funding for the incorporation of The Piedmont Online Institution, a distance-learning institution in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was founded for the purpose of providing a pathway for success and leadership for adult learners. The focus is to bring about a quality distance-learning adult career institution. The institute focused on providing adults with a convenient and quality online learning environment to meet their career education and professional development goals. Piedmont Online Institute realized that adults need convenient online learning services to meet their professional development needs, and to be able to acquire academic credentials in a format that would limit the interference in their already demanding lives. Since this fall, Arian Education Center has offered one-on-one,on-line and group tutoring to students of all grade levels, in all subjects. Test prep (SAT, ACT, GED, etc.) classes are also available during the school year and in the summer time. We are open and ready to serve your students’ academic needs, every day from 9 AM to 9 PM. The Center was founded by a former teacher, with over 30 years of public teaching and private tutoring experience, focused on mathematics and business. Our founding premise is to offer parents and students a more customized, personal service, specifically tailored to individual learning styles and needs. We teach a wide variety of subjects including but not limited to; Mathematics, reading, writing, test-prep, foreign languages (such as Farsi and Spanish), homework help, home schooling, and even computer literacy and essay writing.
