Hello. I am currently a college student, majoring in TESOL! I love teaching and I am great with kids. I love to be with people and I love teaching in a fun, creative way! I am currently looking for jobs within Torrance and 10 miles in between. I can also give pick-up service to kids (that are in 5 miles within) after school for a small fee! I am Korean and want to help students who just came from Korea and need help with school work! I am a freshman at UCLA as a biochemistry major! I have been a volunteer tutor at my local middle school and a paid tutor at my local tutoring center. Through both of these tutoring experiences, I have helped many students succeed in their classes through breaking down complex concepts so that they are easily understandable yet still thoroughly grasped. Everyone has different ways of learning, so I try to get an idea of how the student learns and tailor my teaching methods to help the student learn in the best way fit for them!

I received my Bachelors of Science in Biology from SDSU and was on the pre-med track so have a lot of experience with Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Biology. I was frequently the one holding review sessions for my peers the night before an exam. In the following years, I attained about 3 years of tutoring experience. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a concept or theory click with a student. I have also learned to appreciate that each student has a unique learning style and am very capable of tailoring my teaching style to their wants and needs.

Learning common core and th enew way of teaching can be difficult especially as common core is much more complicated than the way the parents were taught. Now, they want explanations, logicla reasoning, what I like to call the VANG approach, whihc is verbally algebraically numerically and graphically, especially when it comes to math. I finished my high school in Hong Kong, now I am studying in ELAC with biochemistry major. I have experienced the eastern and the western teaching style, eastern one is more like exam oriented and the western one is more focusing on the concept. But I think those two elements should make a balance. In my class, I will combine those two elements, you will learn the concept and the skills when taking the exam.
