I am 26, and have been tutoring formally and informally since I was 17. I've worked in most subjects but am mainly qualified to work in English composition and math. I've worked three years as an Instructional Assistant working largely with special needs children in K-12, and I've done extensive editing work in both professional, academic, and informal contexts. I am here because I appreciate the experience of tutoring and I'm interested in working in any subject I can, and with both adults and children.

What subjects do you tutor?Integrated Maths I, II & III, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, II & III, College Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calc, Elementary Calculus, Chemistry, Test Prep: SAT/ACT/GRE/ASVAB/HiSET
How much does your tutoring cost?We charge $60-$65 per hour for 1:1 tutoring and $70-$75 per hour for private SAT and ACT tutoring.
How much tutoring does my student need? This will vary on a case by case basis as each student has individual needs. I am happy to consult with you in-person or over the phone outside of student hours to discuss your student's personal needs and come up with an individualized plan. 1-2 hours, 1-2 days per week for regular 1:1 tutoring seems to be the average. I am a junior in high school and peers I have previously taught have received an A grade on assessments. My technique is to assess the level the student is currently at by finding out which areas he/she is proficient in and struggles with. I then can come up with lesson plans that start with the basics to help the student understand the foundation before moving on to the actual lesson. After reaching a basic understanding, I can then move forward by supplying example problems, providing step by step work, and showing the student videos to ensure their comprehension in the subject. I will then end with a little practice test that covers the material studied to assess the student's level of understanding after the tutoring session.

I am currently pursuing an associates in science from Mesa Community College, I then plan to transfer to Arizona State University to pursue a B. S. in software engineering. I currently tutor math (up to calculus 1) at my college as well as Computer Science (Java, C++, and a little MATLAB.) I enjoy tutoring students and helping them learn and I always encourage any questions no matter how silly they may seem. When it comes to tutoring, whether I'm tutoring math or computer science, I like to find some analogy or comparison to relate something the student may be familair with to something the student may not be familiar with.

I've tutored multiple people of different ages, although this is the first time I would be looking at this as a part time job opportunity. I have good communication skills, I'm reliable, responsible, punctual, patient and understanding. I am aware that everyone learns at their own pace, I've had tutoring myself and it helps a lot to have such aid. I'm available everyday, although I would request at least a day worth of notice.
Spanish is my native language, I got a score of 5 on my AP Spanish Language and Culture Test. As far as math is concerned I can go up to Precalculus/Math Analysis which are my current courses.
Parents, I can help with your kids organization and understanding of the subjects listed above. Students, my goal is to provide you with any help you may need.

I have also worked as a volunteer for a Microsoft program that focuses on teaching kids how to code. I've maintained a high GPA for all 4 years, and I have also participated in a host family program in Japan for 3 weeks, so I am very familiar and passionate about the language. I am a native speaker of both English and Chinese as well.

Hi, I'm Daniel.
I'm a full-time educator here on TutorExtra. I have a degree in Business Economics (from UCLA) with a minor in Accounting.
I specialize in two fields. One is in helping college students with their coursework in Accounting, Finance, and Economics. The second is in exam preparation for highschool students (SATs & APs). I've taught a whole range of subjects though so feel free to check out my credentials in my profile.
Here's a little background about myself. I've worked at a Big 4 Accounting firm, but am now pursuing my passion of teaching full-time. My approach to teaching is unique-- I specialize in helping students understand difficult concepts by providing personable examples and explanations catered specifically to each of them. There hasn't been a single concept that any of my students haven't been able to understand, and the 30+ students I've taught have all told me that my style is very effective and unique.
My teaching philosophy extends beyond just getting through the material--I teach students how to study, prepare for exams, solve exam questions, and maintain/achieve a high GPA. I expect highly of my students to work with me rigorously and, in the long term, develop great studying habits that are prevalent in all high-achieving students.
If my lesson is not satisfactory, I will ensure a money-back guarantee on the first lesson, so please reach out without hesitation.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
