Growing up in the public school system, I realized its greatest fault is an apathy towards learning. Instructors merely teach towards a test, students are judged only by their ability to score high on exams. While it is a tutor's main goal to bring those scores up, I hope to create a learning environment in which students genuinely enjoy the material and become actively curious about the subjects they are exposed to. Whether it's biology, chemistry, math, or writing, I aim to not only teach my students, but to engage them and lead them to an ongoing interst in their fields of study.

To Whom it May Concern:
I am interested in applying for an elementary-level teaching position in your school district. As a 2014 I have been working in education. I started as a paraprofessional in a one-on-once capacity with a student with Autism. After three years, and my student’s readiness to be on their own, I moved for a short time into the Life Skills program. At that time, I was going to be going into student teaching at the elementary level. So, this past fall (2017) I transferred schools to an elementary school as a classroom paraprofessional in second grade. I worked with a class in the paraprofessional capacity, finishing up my Masters courses. While I was working (September through December break) I was responsible for a small math intervention group as well as my classroom duties.
In January 2018 I began my student teaching. While there I implemented a new classroom management system (Classroom Dojo). I also immediately took over a math and reading intervention group.
I finished my student teaching experience April 20th, 2018. I will be graduating May 12th with my Masters of Elementary Education. I have had over 100 observational hours before I started my student teaching. These observations ranged from kindergarten through sixth grade. My certification has been issued by the state of New Hampshire.
I believe my teaching experience and passion learning and classroom engagement make me an ideal candidate to make a positive impression on your educational experience.
