Welcome to my page and thank you for stopping by.
My motto: Learning is a process of appreciation, wisdom, and knowledge. Seeing my students' steady progression and diligence toward education and their future is what makes teaching so worth wild! Some students may not like learning because they think they are NOT good at it. However, once you get their mind rolling and confidence soaring - it never stops. Those are the few things that I enjoy about one-on-one tutoring. You get to know the students and their family members on a deeper level. You get to understand their needs and what it takes for their engine to start.
A little bit about myself: I have been in the educational field for more than 6 years. I started out when I was in high school, tutoring my neighbors' two elementary school kids, and absolutely loved it. Now I work as a high school English teacher and tutor on the side for fun! Food is my other passion. Both my parents are chefs, so I have been spoiled all my life with amazing delicacy. An inspiring novel or a comical graphic novel is my favorite pastime.
Mechanical Engineer with keen interests in Product design, Energy Systems, and Mechatronics. Also enjoy quantitative analysis and mathematical modeling. I code for leisure and side projects. I love writing.
Hi there! My name is Amber, and I'm currently a junior studying Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley. I also work as a news reporter at The Daily Californian, UC Berkeley's independent student newspaper. Feel free to ask me anything about math or English, as I excel at both!
I am available to tutor anyone preschool to middle school, junior and seniot school as well as college. Have a degree in education. Degree in Law and Master of Arts in Educational Management. Have 15 years of experience as Associate Professor and as Dean of Student Affairs. If interested please message www.*** ;
I have a bachelors in chemistry and one in economics. At Sac State, where I am now working on a Master's in Chemistry, I have tutored classmates and been referred to students at American River College. I also work at a textbook publishing company that is responsible for grading a number of subject specific proficiency exams for educational purposes. I have been able to put my education to use by travelling and living in Mexico, South Africa, Kenya, and South America. References available upon request.
My teaching perspective has always been growth mindset. I have spent my tenure focusing on bringing up my students to grade level and beyond. I have seen 500 point increase in math SAT scores in my students. I have been instrumental with my students that were lagging behind their class surpass their class. I enjoy helping my students succeed beyond their own expectations of themselves.
I have experience teaching in the classroom. I previously taught alternative education for one year and 11th and 12th grade English in a continuation high school. In the past I taught 7th and 8th grade English. I also taught ELA Enrichment, which was a remedial English class designed to get below grade level students up to grade level. I received my Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies. I also have my Master's degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Before teaching in my own classroom, I substitute taught and worked as a paraprofessional. I was a paraprofessional in self-contained and full inclusion classrooms.
The first thing I do for tutoring is give my students a grade level assessment. The grade level assessment helps me discover what level my student is working at. The assessment also shows me which items need to be worked on. I give lessons on a subject, such as grammar, first. After the lesson, my student and I do a few problems together. After completing the problems together, I have my student work on some problems by themselves. I check the answers in front of my student. If any of the problems are wrong, we go over the problems together. We discuss the right and wrong answers and also why the answer is wrong. I also help students with their homework, if needed.
