Hello! My name is Mia www.*** I am currently an entering Freshman at College Park High School in Pleasant Hill. I have taken classes up to Geometry, yet would be tutoring up to Algebra 1 in regards to Math. Though my main focus is Math, I can also assist with Science, English, and general matters of school. I have taken classes at Berkeley through the program ATDP, had a 1130 SAT score my 8th grade year, and would love the opportunity to aid your child through her/his academic career! Though I do not have my own car I would be perfectly willing to take BART, ask a friend, or bike to your home depending on whatever is of convenience to you. Thank you and I hope that you consider me as a tutor!

My experience includes being a peer tutor for people in my classes for two years, tutoring the ages of 7-14 for one and a half years, and serving as a peer counselor assisting peers in college applications which required tutoring and counseling training. I am passionate about education and helping others succeed. My goal is to find ways to incorporate different learning styles into various activities to ensure everyone understands their material rather than just be told to learn it. With any of my past or future experience, I hope to make a big step towards my goal and know that expanding what I know can be accomplished. For example, in my University (University of California-Davis), I learn how to care for animals, network, write journalism articles and creative pieces, and most importantly, teach others various subjects. I am eager to learn, adapt, engage, and, most of all, be a great tutor.

California Educational Centers
School, Learning Center
|
In 1991, Brian Tom's seedling educational center, Cerritos Education Center, consisted of a one-room homework lab, a used van, and a staff of 5 employees.
Today, the educational services company has transformed to become California Educational Centers Inc., or CEC, now boasting several contracts with school districts, valued community relationships and a staff of more than 100, including credentialed teachers, college graduate and undergraduate students, who reach out year-round to all students. CEC is proud to receive continued support from the community, through partnerships with institutions like the California Chess Academy, Chick-Fil-A, Elephant Bar Restaurant, Network for a Healthy California and Project APPLE.
While the facility and the student base has certainly grown and changed over the years, the principle behind the company remains the same. The vision was, and still is, for an educational center with 3 core values: safety, education and fun! Together these components, along with the mission statement, "to help each student reach his/her highest academic and social potential"brings to life an educational center whose unique environment inspires academic and social success for its students.
Founded in 1991. We work with 5 School Districts.
CEC strives to guarantee academic and social success for its students. CEC continues to be at the forefront of education, constantly developing new programs and curriculum designed to inspire every aspect of a childs mind, and utilizing the latest in educational technology in its multimedia computer lab, Vision Learning Labs.
As the company has grown, so has the diversity of its clientele. CEC's goal is to make its educational services available to all students, of all backgrounds. With this goal in mind, CEC has worked hard to offer special year-round discounts to make CEC's work with each family's own budget.
Even though he is legally blind, Brian Tom has a clear vision to educate others and is motivated to share this vision. From the very start of his journey, which began with his diagnosis of glaucoma, to his present achievements, four highly respected companies, Brian and his staff have maintained their devotion to education and continue to provide students with a visionary path to success! California Educational Centers continues to be an integral part of the neighboring community fueled in large part to our staff's dedication and enthusiasm towards student achievement!

I have been teaching and tutoring students for 15 years. I have a master's degree in special education and a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I tutor mainly elementary students in math, reading, writing, study skills, and homework help. I greatly enjoy helping students one on one because I can really focus on helping and improving on each student's strengths, one at a time. I love helping students gain confidence in the classroom. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

I am currently in High school and have a variety of skills ranging from school to technology. I can meet you or we could Skype, and I believe that I would be able to help your child with any needs. Seeing how I volunteered at my personal school to tutor peers and I don't stop until they understand. I hope to be of assistance.
