I have been providing individualized and small group tutoring for 13 years. I am committed to providing learners with the help and support that they need to overcome academic challenges and maximize their potential. My goal is to inspire others and mentor them to become lifelong learners.
I begin services by evaluating the student to determine if concept gaps exists. If gaps do exist, students are assigned concepts to close the gap so grade level work become easier. This approach has enabled students to increase their understanding and mastery of course materials in school subjects, thus improving their grade in school.
I tutor in the following subject areas:
-Early childhood education (pk-5)
-Middle grades education
-Algebra
-Geometry
-History and other social sciences
-Writing and Editing
-SAT/ACT
-GED
-ESL

I am an electrical and computer engineering student with a love of math and helping people understand it. I have been tutoring people in math since I was 12. I started by helping my friends in my classes and have progressed since then. The people I have tutored have made A's or B's, depending on the level of effort they choose to dedicate to the subject. I know what it's like to look at a teacher's notes or a textbook and not knowing where to start, and I realized that if I'm stuck, I do best learning in a one on one setting, and I want to provide that for anyone who wants help.
I like to begin by asking how a person learns best, and I ask for an example of what a person did to understand a concept that they previously found difficult. I use videos and worksheets, and I work through problems with people I tutor in order to have a variety of ways that they can learn. It also helps us to determine the best way to succeed. I give lessons to people from a first grade level through a college math calculus 1 level.

Eito Y.
Tutor, Teacher, Instructor

Hello, I'm Eito and I currently go to Georgia Southern University as a D1 basketball player while maintaining a 3. 76 GPA. I am originally from Japan and I came to the United States when I was nine due to my dad's work. When I tutor, I will try to teach not just that subject, but also how to be successful in life. My dream was to become a D1 basketball player and my dream did come true, but no one knows many sacrifices I had to make to get here. Even after I made it, it is still very hard to maintain an above 3. 5 GPA while playing basketball. However, I am doing it now and I know how to do it. When I tutor, I would also like to show students what it takes to make your dream come true.
