I have 12 years of experience as a teacher and tutor. I believe in finding new and innovative methods of teaching to help students succeed. Each student is unique and what may work for one may not work for another, that is why I take my time to ensure I prepare lessons that are appropriate for each student individually that will help him/her develop the skills needed to improve in class. I have experience working with different age groups and with students with learning disabilities. I have a passion for teaching. I believe every student has the ability to succeed. Sometimes we just need the extra help and someone to care and believe in us to show us the way. I want to continue to be that person for students, someone they can lean on, and help them in their journey to success.

My name is J'Nya. I am a sophomore in high school at Charlotte Teacher Early College looking to tutor mostly primary aged students in core subjects. I have been an honor roll student since kindergarten. I aim to enrich young students learning capabilities. I work strictly online due to the current state of the world and in more specific our country. My work time Monday-Thursday is very strict but my time for Friday-Sunday is a little bit more flexible for those who need longer time slots. I can not wait to enhance and stimulate your/your child's brain.

My Philosophy: While teaching, I feel that it is necessary to share my gifts and talents in the classroom as well as with others who may need extra help. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and helping kids see their maximum potential in their learning. I want to continue tutoring throughout the summer as well as into the school year. This area of education is crucial to me, and I want to make sure that the kids I work with understand the content better as to when they had started working with me. My Tutoring Experience: I have worked with children from 1st-3rd grade in all subject areas. I have worked with 4th-8th graders on study skills to prepare them or help them succeed in both middle school (6th-8th) or high school (9th-12th). I have worked with students in middle school in almost all subject areas, including but not limited to: English, writing, social studies, science, and religion. Tutoring and COVID-19: In these times of uncertainty, it has become clear to me that many parents are not comfortable with their children returning to the classroom. Therefore, I would like to offer my services regardless if a student is attending school regularly, as in face to face or if they are going to be engaging in remote learning (i. e. virtual). I understand the reality that many parents have full-time jobs and can't take on an entirely new job: becoming their child's full-time teacher. I know it is common for many young children to become easily distracted, thus it will be my job to guide individuals through their virtual schooling and keep them on track. Additionally, I am flexible about where you would want tutoring to take place. For instance, I can come to you, you can come to me, or we can use a platform such as Zoom to ensure your child is getting what they need.

Hi, my name is Asha www.*** I'm a college student at Georgia State University. I am studying two disciplines, Social work and entrepreneurship. I am very compassionate when it comes to young minds. The bulk of my experience has come from working at an all girls Summer camp under the name of Girls Rock Camp ATL, a music camp that teaches some 70 young girls how to write and play music along with many other vaulable skills like self-love and many more. Some of my achomplishments have been tutoring my sisters both older and younger than me. Helping my older sister gain her GED after the passing of our mother who home -schooled as all through out our lives as well as tutoring my younger sister through middle school even helping her skip a whole grade ahead and I continue to still teach her through high school. I graduated with a 3. 8 GPA with honors and distincrions earning a merit scholarship and getting accepted into over 8 colleges one being Penn State even through the adversities of loosing my mother. So, with that being said I am capable of handling young minds as well as helping them succeed further then they'd expect from themselves.

I am a trained teacher with a diploma in education, BA in History and a Master's in Government. I have over 30 years' teaching and tutoring experience. AS as a tutor I do one on one counseling with my students to keep them organized and focused.
I have several years' public speaking experience mainly gained through Toastmasters International. I am a past president of the Minutemen Toastmasters Club with vast public speaking experience.
My tutoring style includes a few minutes of lecturing. I have found that having discussions with my students, having them complete assignments and then reviewing these assignments with them is the best method. I encourage my students to be proactive, asks questions and help them to reason through topics for themselves to ensure that they have grasped the concepts.
In addition, no teaching style works for all students so I always make sure to adapt my methods to the learning style of my student. After all, the most important thing is to make sure my students grasp the concepts and develop the ability to complete tasks independently.
