I have over 4 years of tutoring experience in many different subject areas. I have tutored in several different academic settings, and I have worked with a vast range of age groups including high school, college, and graduate students. I have tutored in one-on-one settings, as well as managed after school tutoring sessions, helping to motivate and expand study skills with over 20 students per class.
Some of the unique populations that I've taught and tutored include first-generation college bound students who come from low-income families (Upward Bound Program), high profile Division-I college athletes (Fresno State), and Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy graduate students (University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences - San Marcos, CA).
I have tutored many science/math courses and the students I work with have gained not only increased knowledge and better test scores, but also self-confidence, which is often a crucial barrier to learning and performing well.

Hi, I am Lesslie M., I graduated with my Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland. What I love about tutoring is that you can really affect the way a student feels about a subject, when they start understanding more about the subject, they will want to learn more. My goal while tutoring in Math is to get back my students' confidence in their ability to succeed in Math. I will usually work with the curriculum the students are using in their school and before we start working in any homework, we go over the relevant topics for the homework and I always try to connect the topic with something practical they will remember. I was born and raised in Ecuador. While tutoring my students in Spanish I help them pronounce words correctly and teach phrases that are actually used in daily conversations since Spanish is my native language. My name is Alex, I am currently attending American Fork High School. I have done tutoring before and have worked with special for 3 years. I enjoy working with kids and helping them reach their full potential in school. I mostly tutor English Literature, but I can also teach mathematics for students K-7 since I feel confident in math up until that point. I can also babysit :)
My first lesson is free, I like to have a session with the student and parents discussing their needs and scheduling (though schedules are very flexible). After the meeting I can have a tutoring session with your kid if there's time, if not their next lesson will be free. My pricing is $8 an hour, but this can depend on some other factors.
