I would love to work with your child! I have 18 years of experience as a special education teacher and 13 as the mom of a child with high functioning autism. I can understand your struggles from multiple angles. I am a creative educator who uses data to drive my instruction and often think outside of the box when instructing students. I also utilize visuals a lot in my instruction and really enjoy working with students who just need additional time and attention to understand subjects.

Hello! I have 25+ years of teaching and coaching experience that can help you to achieve your academic or career goals.
As a graduate student, I led classes at Princeton, Drew and the University of Virginia. I also privately tutored student athletes while at UVA.
In 2001, I opened my first education company, The Engaged Mind LLC. I specialized in helping professionals to develop the mindset and the daily habits needed to create high levels of achievement and well-being. I also showed a lot of students how to become much better test-takers.
I know how to make learning fun and I really enjoy helping others. It's especially rewarding when I can help someone to overcome the very obstacles that once stood in the way of their success.
I’ve helped hundreds of clients to develop greater focus, confidence and momentum for 18+ years.
I'd like to help you as well.
Send me a note and let's connect. Let's talk about what you are struggling with right now and how I can help you to attain the success that you desire and deserve.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Whether you decide to hire me or not, I wish you well. Never underestimate who you are, what you know or what you are capable of becoming.

My Philosophy: While teaching, I feel that it is necessary to share my gifts and talents in the classroom as well as with others who may need extra help. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and helping kids see their maximum potential in their learning. I want to continue tutoring throughout the summer as well as into the school year. This area of education is crucial to me, and I want to make sure that the kids I work with understand the content better as to when they had started working with me. My Tutoring Experience: I have worked with children from 1st-3rd grade in all subject areas. I have worked with 4th-8th graders on study skills to prepare them or help them succeed in both middle school (6th-8th) or high school (9th-12th). I have worked with students in middle school in almost all subject areas, including but not limited to: English, writing, social studies, science, and religion. Tutoring and COVID-19: In these times of uncertainty, it has become clear to me that many parents are not comfortable with their children returning to the classroom. Therefore, I would like to offer my services regardless if a student is attending school regularly, as in face to face or if they are going to be engaging in remote learning (i. e. virtual). I understand the reality that many parents have full-time jobs and can't take on an entirely new job: becoming their child's full-time teacher. I know it is common for many young children to become easily distracted, thus it will be my job to guide individuals through their virtual schooling and keep them on track. Additionally, I am flexible about where you would want tutoring to take place. For instance, I can come to you, you can come to me, or we can use a platform such as Zoom to ensure your child is getting what they need.

Athul Vikas
Tutor, Teacher, Instructor

Athul V. has been an Online tutor with over seven students in the past year. He is a rising freshman going to The University of South Carolina pursuing the Pre-Med route along with a minor in business. He is also a Capstone Scholar for the University and wishes to tutor others who need assistance with learning new concepts: Algebra, All concepts related to 1st- 10th grade, www.*** history, Biology, and many more!
I also offer homework assistance and EOG prep for students.
The academic system is structured in a way that indirectly causes high levels of stress, a lack of self-confidence, and a serious disconnection between school and learning. Instead, we encourage critical thinking skills, a deep understanding o the subjects, and by far the most important, active recall. As we interact with students, we wish to mentor while making them independently understand the concepts at a deeper, semantic level.
Education has always been a pet peeve for Athul V. since his time in India seven years back. He did not like the way content was thought in India, through rigorous memorization without any valid understanding or reasoning.
Athul wishes to teach students not only the topics at hand but also time management and learning strategies that will aid them in their future.
Athul offers an online education center built on the idea of providing academic assistance for varying subjects for elementary, middle, and even high schoolers!
Ever Since the Covid-19 pandemic and onward, our society has completely shifted to the computer screen. Whether it be online classes or minimal interactions, we are all home. However, For students, this is highly problematic. Kids are not supported to learn through zoom calls and learn through boring lectures that are completely passive.
I love helping students with their learning goals -- as simple as that. My philosophy is that a clear understanding is the most important aspect of education and I truly enjoy the aha moment when my students realize a new idea.
With this strategy, my students have received honor roll in their classes with a thorough understanding of math, science, and their applications.

Hello! I am Braily www.*** I am in 6th grade but am on a 7th grade level. Although I may be young for tutoring it is my passion! I have a younger brother that I tutor him. I have been tutoring him for 4 years. I have straight A's in school and have been taking Advanced classes. As you look at my schedule, it says that I am available from 8am to 10pm. And you may ask " Why is she not in school?" The reason is because I take online classes so at night and in the very early morning I do school. I am tutoring so I can help out children and help my parents. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Have a very good day,
Sincerely,
Braily www.*** ;
