My teaching method is tailored to every student’s learning style. I can give lectures, help with homework, or work problems alongside students.
To learn something it is helpful to be exposed to the material in many different ways and formats; This helps to strengthen neural pathways so the information is easy to recall and utilize. Moreover, I try to answer questions and teach using many different mediums --visual, auditory, and analogical. As a tutor, I am always learning during every session about how to better serve students’ needs to ensure utmost satisfaction.

In my opinion, tutoring is not just about teaching the fundamentals but also about listening. Each individual student has a specific manner in which they learn best. It is my endeavor to uncover this and fine-tune instructions so the student can receive what is being explained as well as perhaps discovering how to grasp the concepts better on their own. Creating an environment where learning is fun; to take the chore and dread out of a subject which might not be their favorite is beneficial. Being constructive in my methods to boost the student’s confidence in the subject or project is what I strive for. I am compassionate, passionate, detail oriented and punctual. Additionally, I have assisted children with autism with communication challenges, difficulties with social interaction and gaining confidence. It is with this broad range of skills I creatively pull from that I feel I would be a wonderful extension of your team. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you and the possibility of working with you in the near future. 2004-2005- substitute teacher in private school in various subjects grades K-7. Main focus - English, Art, and Spanish, but not limited to. I have taught art classes privately with small groups of children as well as private individual lessons. Recently I taught 17 autistic students art. The curriculum was designed and written by me and has had overwhelming success. Each class was organized around a different artist or style. Students used colored pencils, colored paper, crayons, stickers and more to create pieces inspired by those artists, as well as pop culture and politics. At the end of each class they explained to the other students why they felt their project supported the style taught. They had direction as well as freedom to make choices as an artist. They learned “public speaking” in a safe environment. (To be noted- this is often extremely difficult for people on the spectrum.) To bring enthusiasm to whatever I am instructing is a part of what I aspire to. I have extensive training and continuing education in art and oil painting. I am adept in acrylic paint as well. Figure and portrait drawing classes and workshops in advanced color application and methods from some of the leading artists in the country have been studied.
**TO BE NOTED - my per hour fee range average is $35 to $85. It depends on the position and what is needed/required. (I did not see where to qualify this aspect. Special needs, etc. could vary my rates as well - so many variables and situations.)

I am from California, and I took the California High School Proficiency Exam in my sophomore year, leaving high school that same year and starting college. I have not completed college due to not actually knowing what I want to pursue long-term. I do, however, have a passion for English, - grammar and sentence structure are something I enjoy putting my time into - and I have been helping people around me with their own English classes for years. I have never recieved lower than a B grade on an essay, and my proofreading has helped my friends and family to achieve higher grades. I am also an award winning artist. My medium of choice is pencil or acrylic paint. I have been drawing since i was four years old and have not stopped since. I am proficient in American Sign Language, and English is my native language.

I teach my pupils a classical education curriculum, based on the educational standards of Western Civilization until the mid 20th century or so.
I specialize in (English only) grammar, arithmetic, geometry, natural sciences and astronomy, music and art, politics, and philosophy. Almost every lesson also includes a section on geography (and cartography) and history to give context to the topics studied. Be prepared to study writings and cultures of Western Civilization: from Greco-Roman Hellenism to Catholic scholasticism, to the Renaissance and Anglo-American Enlightenment. Looking backwards at the transitions between these eras, what might come next?
I am able to scale these lessons for any age group. One is never too young to learn the basics nor too old to contemplate the Masters. As I do not teach any languages, my courses will be 100% English or English translations.
While parts of the Bible will be read and discussed, my lessons are largely secular, unbiased, and academic in nature. These are not Sunday School lessons!
I absolutely love that I get to lift up a generation that has inherited a fallen society. I put the academics back into academia. You won't find the Judeo-Marxist critiques and deconstruction of the Occident with my lessons, nor will you need to purchase $400 textbooks. The readings from my lessons, and the wisdom they impart, are all freely available online to the entire world. I will provide all of the reading material for free in a format readable on any computer, smartphone, or e-book reader. I will even attempt to find an audiobook for free if requested.
New students: I discuss the needs of new students and plan a customized lesson based on their needs and/or areas of interest. Please allow two weeks of planning time for a new student's first few lessons. Education is not "one size fits a classroom of 30."
Modest pricing: $100 for a one hour bi-weekly lesson. I give my pupils a full two weeks to read the materials and write about the lesson's readings. I meet all students at their nearest public library or we can conduct lessons online.

Hi!
I have experience tutoring high school students and traning creative professionals, as well as raising my own daughter to love reading, music, art, and being endlessly curious. My specialties include English language and literature, history, art history, and social sciences. I took AP English, History, Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus in high school all while playing two sports. In college I received academic, music, and art scholarships and graduated with Honor. I have tremendous empathy for learners of all ages and greatly value the guidance I received as a student. I welcome every opportunity to pay it forward and help students as a tutor.
My career as an artist and web designer has given me a love of humanities and culture. Soon after completing my bachelor's degree in graphic design, I started a "penny university" - an independent coffee shop - that hosted poetry readings, live music, art shows, and a high school philosophy club. For over a decade, I have independently studied and written about art history, ancient and European history, and languages including English, Spanish, Italian, and Latin. I have travelled several times to Europe, including London, Oxford, Rome, and Florence, and I have lived, worked, and studied in Chicago, Portland, and New York.
