I have my doctorate in physical therapy. I have experience tutoring elemenary students in an after school program throughout high school and college students in algebra, chemistry, anatomy/physiology. Worked at my college's academic support center as a proof reader. Specialty areas: algebra, basic chemistry, proof reading, anatomy/physiology, american history. I am great at thinking outside the box to assist you/your child in developing skills to continue to make good academic progress. Flexible tutoring time/lengths to most assist your child from 30/45 min sessions for >1 hr. www.*** evenings/weekends.
I have been babyysitting, nannying, and tutoring for several years with children ages birth through fourteen years of age. I have been completing my student teaching internships the last two years and have had experience with preschool, kindergarten, and primary grades in public, private, and urban schools. I love children and am willing to adjust pricing. I correlate my tutoring skills with school standards and home standards by setting achievable and realistic goals through hands on learning and activities where the child will beneift not only academic skills, but personable skills as well.
I am 35 years old. I have 4 children of my own. I have worked with children for over 10 years. I homeschool all 4 of my children. I would love to help you and your children when you need it.
Hello! I want to start off with my number one tutoring philosophy, which is that every one of my students are first friends, then tutees. I have over three years of experience tutoring all areas of Math and Science, as well as English grammar and writing. Currently SAT and PSAT are my main focus. I graduated high school as valedictorian, and am currently an honors fellow at the University of Miami with a double major of Public Health and Business Administration. I also run division one cross country and track and field. It is truly my passion to help students of all ages succeed in whatever they desire to learn, and I cannot wait to meet you and help you on your journey!
I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, and my education at North Park University provided me with a foundation for me to excel as a tutor.
My experience and skills are relevant in my work at Downers Grove South. As a paraprofessional my responsibilities include mostly providing academic assistance with a student's work. I work mostly 1:1 however I do help several students simultaneously as well. The students often come to me specifically for psychology or psychology-related assignments and biology.
I worked as a youth director for two years at LaSalle Street Church. My responsibilities were to communicate and collaborate with volunteers and coworkers, to design curriculum and programming, and mentor and foster relationships with my students and the community. My open-mindedness and commitment to my students' success can be embodied in a conversation I had with a student. She came to me expressing how she recently diagnosed with depression and how it would affect her at school. I told the student that her experience was valid and true no matter what others thought. Additionally I told her that her school work will or be compromised. She may have to put more effort or time into it, but she was still just as smart. My resume goes into greater detail about my experiences with leadership, education, management. As you can see my educational, professional, and volunteer experience make me a well-rounded and excellent candidate for either position as a paraprofessional.
Thank you for opportunity, and I look forward to working with you.
I graduated from The Ohio State University in 2016 with a B. S. Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching in some setting since 2013. Some of my experience includes working in after school programs, teaching fourth, preschool and first grade, student teaching and more.
My teaching style is student centered. I will assess the current knowledge and needs of the students to then develop a plan for learning. I find it important to develop a rapport with my students. I will always enourage my students to exceed their goals.
Thank you for considering me in your search for a tutor. Please message me with any inquiries or questions.
Hi! My name's T, I'm a college student studying to be a teacher. I love teaching, learning, and helping others. My hours and rates are fairly flexible and open to discussion. I've been tutoring since I was in eighth grade, but officially I'd put it around 2-3 years ago. I make lesson plans, worksheets, study guides - whatever you or your child need to succeed! I also like to keep both the student and parent updated on progress, assignments, and anything important I notice. I look forward to working with you!

Hello!
My name is Grace and I am a high school graduate with a GPA of www.*** , in NHS, and Summa Cum Laude. While I am not a certified tutor, I am very good in math, english and some science. I am really good in algebra and geometry. I am a full time nanny for a family with two young boys daily 11-5pm. However, I am available on the weekends, and before and/or after those hours. I am pretty flexible so contacting me and talking it out it the easiest. I can also help with younger students and their school work. Hello! I teach 3rd grade special education and also service students in grades K-3 to give tier 2 and tier 3 supports to general education classroom students. I am high energy and love kids of all abilities and ages. I am looking to do some after school tutoring, preferably virtually, but I am open to in person as well!
I have been working at an elementary school for the past school year as a paraprofessional in an FRP classroom. We have children with all kinds of different abilities/disabilities. I am going to be going back to school to pursue a masters in special education. Currently, I specialize in English and would very much like to help children with reading comprehension and writing. I could also help older children prepare for middle and high school as well.
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I'm working with new students who are in High School or below. I like to usually set down with both the parents and the student to talk about what might be some major concerns that they might have. And try to start off by reviewing what they already know and work from there.
When I'm working with college students. I will usually talk to them about their majors and what they are planning on doing in the future to try and relate to them the best I can.
No matter what age group I'm working with. I'm always trying to find ways to relate what they like to science so they can link positive things to the subject at hand
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a Biology Major at Zane State College. I work with students one on one and in groups. To help break down the chapter subjects that are being asked of them to understand.
I'm a Regional and a State Judge for The Ohio Academy of Science. Where I got to learn and question the projects that the middle schoolers- high schoolers presented.
What types of students have you worked with?
Middle school
High School
Traditional College students
Non-Traditional College Students
Kids and adults with IEP's and other accommodations
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Even If something seems hard. There is always another way of learning it. Don't stop because you don't understand it the first try.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Is it the coursework or just the teaching method you don't understand when being explained something.
