I have always had a great passion for helping others and being in the classroom. In deciding on a profession, I chose to follow my passion of leading, teaching, and helping others. While my primary focus for my degree is Secondary Education with a specialization in history, I have extensive experience tutoring children from preschool through high school. Likewise, I babysit and nanny children from infancy through middle school. During my time in high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society and the Italian Honor Society. I was also an ambassador for the National Society of High School Scholars. I was also a member of the Peer Mentor organization and a club called PUSH/REBEL. These organizations focused on teaching the youth of the community the dangers of getting involved with or using illegal substances and helped immerse students in positive leadership and educational activities. As a college student, I work for a tutoring company and tutor English Language Arts, History, Chemistry, and Algebra. I also work for a nanny company. It is my hope that I can connect with more students and have the opportunity to work with more children through TutorExtra.

Growing up in the public school system, I realized its greatest fault is an apathy towards learning. Instructors merely teach towards a test, students are judged only by their ability to score high on exams. While it is a tutor's main goal to bring those scores up, I hope to create a learning environment in which students genuinely enjoy the material and become actively curious about the subjects they are exposed to. Whether it's biology, chemistry, math, or writing, I aim to not only teach my students, but to engage them and lead them to an ongoing interst in their fields of study.
To contact me, please call or text at tel: *** , I will be able to reply much faster via the phone than I will through the website.
Taking students of all ages and abilities. The weekday times of availability are tentative and flexible, please let me know what times work for you!

Hello! I have been teaching chemistry for 2 years. Throughout college, I tutored other students in chemistry classes. I worked as a TA for a general chemistry class. I enjoy teaching because it is awesome to see how my students grow over time. It is so rewarding to see a student work hard and succeed because of that hard work. I believe that every student can achieve their learning goals, some just need a little extra support to get there.

Hello. My name is Steven www.*** I have been providing bully prevention and violence prevention training and social skills workshops to students, school staff and parents since 1999.
When working with youth, I teach, role-play, critique and reinforce physical and verbal skills that develop self-esteem and confidence that increase social skills - skills that help to create and maintain healthy relationships of all types and reduce being the target of bullies. For instance, using handshaking and high-fives, I teach assertive communication skills using an effective use of voice and strong body language. In turn, these skills are used to stop bullying, which we practice in fun, yet serious, role-playing. This example and other activities are also used to help youth manage their emotions, resolve conflicts peacefully and develop good friendships and support systems.

I Know a student should study to increase their value, and grow.
Perseverance and having a vision are two qualities that a person should have to be great at the things they do. And two characteristics I possess and value dearly. They've help me, and still do help me, to be very proficient and have a love for mathematics and computer literacy.
