I am currently a Special Education teacher for Eastern Suffolk BOCES.
I hold five teaching certificates, including:
Early Childhood Birth to Grade 2
Childhood Grade 1 to Grade 6
Students with Disabilities: Early Childhood Birth to Grade 2
Students with Disabilities: Childhood Grade 1 to Grade 6
Literacy and Cognition Birth to Grade 6
I went to school to become a teacher and completed almost all of my classes. Due to personal issues, I was not able to complete my student teaching. However, I did get all A's and B's in all of my other education classes. I also went for special education, so I have that knowledge. That is why I am going alternate route. I am very enthusiastic and dedicated to children. I currently work in a school as an aide. I have worked with Preschool all the way through eighth grade. I would like to work with students in sixth grade or younger. I did my student teaching in 3rd and 4th grades general education and a resource room that was first through fourth grade. I am very familiar with the Common Core State Standards. I am looking forward to helping your child!
I am a Speech and Language Pathologist licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and nationally certified by ASHA (American Speech Language and Hearing Association). I currently work in an elementary school with a focus on Autism Spectrum Disorders. During the Summer months, I run the Speech program at a Special Needs camp for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities.
I am a speech-language pathology graduate student working to complete my master's degree in August 2021. I have taken a special interest in neuroanatomy and physiology of the human body. I have 2 years of experience working with children who have special needs in a clinical and school setting, as well as adults with acquired communication disorders.
