Hi! I am a positive and passionate educator and credentialed teacher. I have five-and-a-half years of teaching experience. I started out my teaching career as a Reading Intervention Teacher in grades K-5. More recently I have been teaching English Language Arts and Reading and Social Studies in grades 7 and 8. I believe that all children can learn, however sometimes it may be in different ways. I have worked as an Education Specialist and TSR Remote Project Mentor working with a non-profit organization in conjunction with the Children's Learning Institute (CLI) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) that oversees the Texas School Ready Project (TSR). I coached and mentored Early Education Teachers and helped them implement the TSR Model in their classrooms. I am also an experienced and Texas Certified Bilingual Teacher with 6 years of experience working with school districts. I worked for 5 years as a Bilingual Pre-K Teacher and 1 year as a Bilingual Kindergarten Teacher. I have been trained with the Gomez & Gomez Dual Language Program, Estrellita Accelerated Reading Program, and Zoophonics Multi-sensory Language Arts Program and have done many of the ongoing TSR/CLI trainings as well. During the start of my career in education, I mentored and tutored 1st through 3rd graders by helping them achieve new study skills in school and in their homework. With the 3rd graders, I tutored them to help them develop new test-taking skills and assisted with comprehension skills in reading to help them improve their score in a state assessment.
