Hello, there amazing fellow humans! My name is George E. I have over 15+ years of internationally combined experience in teaching Spanish. I also have experience in teaching in schools all other general subjects. I am confident I can help you and/or your child on your educational journey towards becoming fluent in Spanish. Here is more about my skills, experience and how I can help you.
NOTE: I am willing to Travel Further than a 10-mile radius if the tutoring is a 2-hr minimum. :)
I am bilingual in Spanish. I took 6 years of Advanced placed Spanish courses. I have been a translator for international groups. I have done translation work with the Peruvian government. I know the in's and out's and mechanics of the Spanish language and can teach it in a way that tailors to different learning styles (i. e. , if you're a visual learner, we can use more visual aids and etc.).
I also have previous experience as a journalist and am a published writer and have written for The Huffington Post for the last 5 years and also currently write with Elite Daily.
I am finishing my Master's Degree in Social & Cultural Theory from The University of Staffordshire. I have taught in primary and secondary schools (internationally), universities, and in online courses. I have also taught philosophy.
I am confident I can meet your needs.
I have worked with toddlers to adults, to students with special needs. I love what I do. Its imparting knowledge, a new perspective and inspiring others that makes this incredibly important to me.
So, how can I help you? I bring the 6-years of educational training. I was raised by a native Hispanic speaker. I have over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience combined. I have been a translator for governments, community groups, and churches that travel to Hispanic speaking countries.
I teach to your learning style. Whether that be tactile, auditory, visual and/or a combination I am laid-back but use goals and benchmarks as a way to guide and encourage your Spanish speaking journey. Get in touch today!

Please excuse me as I attempt to squeeze as much info as I can into a rather limited space: I am also currently a substitute teacher for LA Unified with a Multiple Subject Credential and a Special Ed Credential (MM) for grades K to 12th. I work well with students with learning challenges, as I am told I have a disarming and patient manner. I am a published poet and guide students in either early literacy to advanced writing skills, as well as World History. As a teen, I travelled throughout Europe on my own with a British aunt and uncle in Rome as my home base. I am therefore multi lingual and multi cultural. I am steeped in Asian culture as well, having had a step father who was Chinese. I have travelled to Japan many times. I am a classically trained violinist and have played in many quartets, ensembles, and orchestras. Having had training in singing, I have performed opera with the Marina Singers. I was a dance instructor for Fred Astaire Studios and went to Dapplegray Riding School in Palos Verdes Peninsula when I was young. I have taught Spanish, and Drawing & Watercolours in Bellflower Adult school. However, I am first and foremost an artist with a growing portfolio of drawings, aquarelles, pastels and paintings. I am also engaged in the writing of several supernatural tales for children and a rather satirical novel. I am on staff at the Source Seeker an actors workshop where we train people to do cold readings, commercials, and voice overs, writing scripts to train our students, having written several in French while at the Sorbonne in Paris. Born in Europe I was raised in Newport Bay.

As a recent graduate from UC Santa Barbara, I have just completed my Bachelors in Political Science and Writing and enjoy tutoring in a difficult job market. I hope with my qualifications you consider me and reach out. I have a passion for writing and working with kids and take pride in combining those two skills to help, especially during this disconnected and overwhelming time for www.*** ;
Please message me if you have any questions about my qualifications, experience, or availability.

I am a mid-career professional specializing in writing and education services. My projects to date have included public and private sector works where I developed content intended for applications in the fields of language instruction, test preparation, career training, business management, and applied science research. Several of these works have led to independent publications in peer-reviewed journals and countless more have been hosted on sites across the web. In addition to these projects, I act as a licensed educator focusing on English language acquisition as well as vocational and technical skills development. Through my work and studies, I have traveled to dozens of countries with sojourns in Germany, South Korea, and the United Kingdom, experience I believe making me ideally suited for collaborating on complex international projects and developing cross-cultural services.

I'm Ashley! I graduated Cum Laude from UCSD with a Bachelors's degree in Media Arts and a minor in Language Studies with a focus on American Sign Language. I have been tutoring English and ASL for the last five years and absolutely love helping students overcome their insecurities or fears in a subject that they struggle in. I have worked with all kinds of students from young elementary to adults learning English as a second language and have learned that every student learns differently, so I'm always excited to figure out how best to structure lessons or the way I explain material in order to help them to succeed!
I'm a very patient person, easy to talk to, and am always willing to go out of my way to provide extra help if needed. I'm a film major, not an English teacher, but I tutor because I love watching students gain confidence in a subject that they struggle in. Whether it's grasping a new element of material or moving up a reading level, I get just as excited as they do.
I am an ASL minor and have been signing for eight years. I absolutely love the language and am always excited to see new students choosing to learn it! At UCSD I helped found and was on the board of the ASL club which provided free tutoring sessions, homework help, and conversation practice for ASL students that needed extra help or wanted to improve their fluency. I also volunteered for a program on campus called Language Conversation Tables which allowed students to practice their language skills or learn a new language from their peers.
I want to benefit the students I work with as much as possible and therefore welcome any resources or suggestions that students or parents can provide. I am easy to reach and will always provide quick responses. Please feel free to contact me with any additional questions or to schedule a lesson!
