Hi! My name is Sam B. and I am a senior graduating this semester from Binghamton University. I am from Brooklyn, NY, and am living at home finishing up school online now. I will be free to tutor this spring most weekday mornings and afternoons, and love working with kids. I tutored at Binghamton High School last year, working with students on all subjects they needed assistance with. I have experience as a tennis camp counselor for 5 plus years, as well as working with students at the Brooklyn Public Library. I completed my undergraduate degree at The College of New Jersey, where I double majored in Elementary Education and Psychology. I also have my Masters in school counseling from The College of New Jersey. While in college, I worked at Bright Horizons Family Development center working in the toddler and preschool rooms for about 5 years. After graduation, I taught basic skills literacy and mathematics for 3 years, working with 1st-5th grade students. I have been teaching 1st grade for the past five years in East Windsor. I am happily married and have a 10-year old daughter who is in 5th grade. I have had experience with several families tutoring children in reading and math, ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. I love to read and spend time with my family. My passion has always been to help students reach their highest potential.
I went to school to become a teacher and completed almost all of my classes. Due to personal issues, I was not able to complete my student teaching. However, I did get all A's and B's in all of my other education classes. I also went for special education, so I have that knowledge. That is why I am going alternate route. I am very enthusiastic and dedicated to children. I currently work in a school as an aide. I have worked with Preschool all the way through eighth grade. I would like to work with students in sixth grade or younger. I did my student teaching in 3rd and 4th grades general education and a resource room that was first through fourth grade. I am very familiar with the Common Core State Standards. I am looking forward to helping your child!
I am looking for students pre-k to 5 that needs help in all subjects and 6-12 that need help in English/reading. I love tutoring even the most stubborn child, I feel I am making a positive difference in there life.
My teaching style incorporates my love of art and music to create a creative and productive learning atmosphere. I work to forge genuine connections with students built on a foundation of genuine care and professional competence. Over my four years as a part-time music educator, I developed strong classroom management and curriculum development skills. In finishing my teaching certification last spring in a rather unconventional atmosphere, I have added flexibility in my practice and fluency in online learning tools to my list of qualifications. To learn more about my experience, skills, and teaching philosophy, please review my linked website.
Hello! I am very interested in helping tutor for any student in various subjects. My time spent studying the political science and human rights in college, alongside active undergraduate research experience, has given me what should be most necessary to help others understand the various subject matters. I would also love to help others in the subjects outside of my realm if in elementary or middle school.
Hello! I recently graduated from Towson University. I have 4 years of tutoring experience thus far. Two of those years I worked in a tutoring center helping students from kindergarten to 5th grade work on their reading and writing skills. I mentored at a middle school for a year helping 7th and 8th graders with homework help after school. I recently completed my year long internship where I taught middle school half of the time and high school the other half. My aspiration is to teach others how to succeed and look at the world through multiple lenses. History is told through the story teller. History is only true through that person's lense. I strive to teach my students to remain curious and always question. I provide my students with comprehension skills and writing. History and English parallel with one another. Reading, writing, listening, and questioning are all skills that students need to achieve to be college and career ready. If you would like to know more feel free to contact me. :)
