I enjoy working with people who are eager to learn, and more importantly, eager to pass tests. School is often a difficult setting, but with the right tools, you can succeed. I offer a variety of skills to not only guide students through problems, but to further deepen their understanding and have them discover how to apply new concepts in the future. Although I especially enjoy teaching calculus topics, I am able to tutor for any math subjects, including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and more. I use interesting and engaging methods to explain difficult ideas to those in need. I have experience making abstractions clear for countless friends and family members, and I look forward to continuing with new people.

Here, our services go over at a slow pace to ensure that our students understands the curriculum. Our teaching is very flexible, allowing the child to go slower in difficult subjects while challenging previously known knowledge. Your child will be able to excell in no time!
For my math students, I hope to make sure they understand. Anybody can memorize something, but to understand is just exceeding that standard. I'll begin by giving a simple problem in most instances that I'll have them look over and use their logical systemic approach to examine with. They'll use their logic to examine, and if they get it right, great! If they make mistakes, it's great too, because now we can go over it during the lesson to show what to do and why!
For my English students, I want them to use their imagination. Books and writings are based off imagination, not knowledge. You can take as much information as possible, but if you have no way to imagine how you'll present that, then it won't work. My teaching in this subject will go over this, and I hope I can improve their skills throughout the course.
I have worked with a family member who has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), so I did work with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapists for about three years, but I have no problem working with any other students.
I feel very happy to teach, so I do not hope for mush. I wish to mainly teach online through Zoom primarily so that I can show the work since I do not wish to use my source of transportation to travel many distances as I'm a minor. I would set a standard of twelve dollars an hour, the minimum for minimum wages in California.

I guarantee that I can make Algebra fun and easy for you. I taught Algebra I and II for twenty years at Bentwood School, a highly respected private school in West Los Angeles. Currently I live in North County, San Diego. We can work in person or online, whichever you prefer, and I tutor at no charge. One of my great strengths as a tutor is that I process slowly. As a result I see all the small steps that lead to the understanding of a new concept. Unfortunately Math teachers often move too quickly and leave students behind. I volunteer tutored most recently at MiraCosta College in Cardiff. When I was last evaluated, the Head of the tutoring Department acknowledged my contribution in this way: "Carole, when you leave the office, your often say that you float out of the room. Believe me when I say that your students float out of the room."
