I graduated from Princeton Unversity, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering in Spring 2018. I am currently applying to medical schools, but have always had a passion for teaching - whereas I began tutoring other students - both younger and the same age as I - as a freshman in high school. I continued during my summer breaks from college, even though I had various internships and research jobs. I am working full-time (40 hours a week) as a clinical research assistant at CHOP, but would love to continue to teach on the side! I love working with everyone from children to young adults. I am willing to work out location, hours, and what services I am willing to provide, depending on the student -- this includes via skype for interested students that are not in the Philadelphia area. Please contact me for interest and pricing and I am sure we can work something out!

Hello my name is Aqsa,
I am currently on the premed track and am interested in becoming a pediatrician. I am majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology and minoring in Psychology at UCONN, Storrs. I really enjoyed Organic Chemistry which is why I am interested in tutoring. I am a very patient and enthusiastic person.
I am the oldest in the family so I am always helping my siblings with homework. My freshmen year I volunteered at the Mansfield Middle School and I helped a student with his homework, which encompassed a variety of subjects including Spanish, Reading, Writing, and Math.
I am a certified phlebotomist technician. I volunteer at my local hospital and am currently researching in an autistic lab. Other than that I am currently a junior and so I have 2 more years left and am planning on taking the MCAT next Summer!

I am a trained tutor with a BA in Written Arts and Classical Studies, and 4+ years of experience tutoring students of all ages. I work particularly on supporting students as they develop writing, reading, and studying skills. In my work I meet students where they are in their academic process and collaborate with them to build achievable goals. I work to change student outcomes--not just the grade on one paper or test; this work is not simply editing, but rather engaging with the roots of students’ academic struggles and joys and building up from there. I believe in supporting students as they interrogate their own academic processes and their own ideas--and do this by leading them through rounds of Socratic questioning, free writing, and showing examples of model work. I have worked at the Bard College Learning Commons as a tutor for over four years, where I have been a peer tutor and Writing Fellow. I am also TESOL certified and have worked at Bard College as an ELL specific tutor. Through the Bard Prison Initiative, I have gained experience working with "non-traditionally aged" students. I am now employed by Bard College as the Tutor Coordinator, a job that allows me not only to tutor, but also to support, collaborative with, and hold training workshops for the undergraduate tutors at the college.

Hello! I am very interested in helping tutor for any student in various subjects. My time spent studying the political science and human rights in college, alongside active undergraduate research experience, has given me what should be most necessary to help others understand the various subject matters. I would also love to help others in the subjects outside of my realm if in elementary or middle school.

Personal Statement
I have been a successful tutor for over ten years specializing in SAT and PSAT preparation and in all aspects of language arts including reading comprehension, grammar, and essay and term paper writing. SAT and PSAT tutees have consistently achieved 75-100 point gains. Libraries throughout CT (including New Haven, Wallingford, East Haven, Cheshire, and Bethany) have acknowledged these successes by repeatedly selecting me as presenter of library-sponsored SAT preparation seminars. Tutoring language arts has produced results which are equally striking. Students have improved three or more grade levels in all aspects, including reading comprehension, essay, and term paper writing. These successes as well as extraordinarily positive references from parents, students, teachers, and school principals are set forth in my website: www.*** . I urge the reader to check them out. I am hugely proud of them. I pride myself in bringing out the best in my tutees, in making them feel valued and respected. They reciprocate those feelings and become both challenged and motivated. The results show it. My education speaks for itself: Trinity College (BA, CUM LAUDE), University of Pennsylvania Law School (JURIS DOCTOR). I am also the author of books published by prestigious companies. Education means everything to me. Our work together becomes a successful collaboration. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!

Teaching/tutoring has been a common thread throughout Dr. E.' 48+ year career spanning Bell Labs, Philips Research, and most recently 16 years as an independent consultant in simulation and modeling. He has taught circuit theory at Fairfield University's school of electrical engineering, transmission system design at Bell Labs' In-Hours Continuing Engineering program, Simulation and modeling for Philips Lighting Electronics, HW/SW cosimulation seminars sponsored by Mentor Graphics and Ansoft. Today he is offering his expertise as a private tutor in Electrical Engineering with specialties in circuit theory, simulation and behavioral modeling languages.
Over the years Dr. E. has recorded numerous original innovations. He is the author of the Pass-Fail tolerance optimization methodology, the E. index for statistical sensitivity analysis, the Bell Labs module compiler for integrated logic synthesis, and a patented VHDL-AMS based instruction-set simulation model for HW/SW cosimulation. He is currently investigating frequency domain modeling of Pulse-Width modulators for high frequency simulation of switch mode power supplies.
Tutoring has become a passion for Dr. www.*** He recognizes that students learn by actively working homework and study problems. The tutor's role is not to solve problems while the student watches but to observe and coach while the student solves the problem. He has coached students by preparing instructive problems of his own that introduce complex concepts one step at a time. Throughout the process Dr. E. follows a casual, supportive mentality guided by the recollection that he too had to start from scratch to learn each new topic.
With this tutoring philosophy he has watched his students progress from complete confusion to total fluency in new subject matter. His methods have raised test scores by a full grade and established friendships that outlast the tutoring assignment.

Featured Review: Great Tutor with extreme patience and creative thinking!! "Curtis is extremely patient and did an incredible job connecting with my daughters. He is very thorough and easy to work with and goes out of his way to be available when needed. He has a well-structured approach that considers their individual needs. He explains problems clearly, quickly identifying where help was needed most, and developed constructive strategies for success. They both really enjoy him and actually look forward to their SAT review sessions! We are very happy with our choice of a tutor!"

About Curtis E:
Within the first two weeks of his sophomore year at Phillips Academy, Andover, Curtis was one of the few students to pass out of the year-long Competence (in writing) requirement. He then continued to stand out in all the English classes meant for juniors and seniors, often receiving the only A+ in the section. Curtis caught the acting bug in college and graduated with a degree in Performance Studies from Northwestern University. Ultimately, however, he felt the pull towards the greatest show on Earth: education.
Apart from teaching and tutoring English standard and honors classes at Somerville High School for seven years, Curtis also teaches SAT and ACT Prep, MCAS, theatre, and public speaking. In his time there and with other organizations, test scores and rankings have skyrocketed.
As a tutor and teacher, Curtis works to student strengths while developing areas that need improvement; he is a firm believer that every student can learn. A literature analysis and writing stickler, he works hard to improve skills and ensure college readiness. Curtis' energy and sense of humor make his sessions popular- he portrays academics in a fun light, akin to what he calls the "mental and spiritual gym" where one learns how to learn while maintaining a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
When not working in education, Curtis continues to pursue acting and is currently penning two screenplays. He loves tennis, guitar, cooking, travel, and, most of all, making his wife and kids giggle.

I have been educating for over 16 years where I started as a preschool teacher at my local vocational school when I was junior and senior in High School. During this experience, I knew I loved helping students learned and wanted to be a teacher. Since then, I have gained more experience tutoring students one-on-one and in small settings to ensure they receive the attention they need to succeed. Today, I am not in a general classroom but I still do what I a can to help my students reach their academic goals.

I am a current student at Northeastern University studying Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in cell and tissue engineering. My academic areas of strength are algebra, calculus, physics, chemistry and fluid mechanics. I am looking to tutor students that are at a high school level, however, I can be flexible to meet other needs as well.
I have gone through my own fair share of tutors good and bad, and I completely understand how frustrating it can be to find the right tutor for you. I aim to be fair and do my best to meet your needs.

I spent 2 years tutoring community college students at the RCC tutoring center, in addition to tutoring high school students privately. At the tutoring center, I helped students that ran along a wide spectrum in Math aptitudes - from adult students studying remedial Math, to advanced high schoolers learning Calculus at the local Community College. I also have experience tutoring Algebra-based Physics at Rockland Community College, and Calculus-based E&M at MIT, where I TA'd for MIT's freshman E&M course, 8,02.
