In my opinion, tutoring is not just about teaching the fundamentals but also about listening. Each individual student has a specific manner in which they learn best. It is my endeavor to uncover this and fine-tune instructions so the student can receive what is being explained as well as perhaps discovering how to grasp the concepts better on their own. Creating an environment where learning is fun; to take the chore and dread out of a subject which might not be their favorite is beneficial. Being constructive in my methods to boost the student’s confidence in the subject or project is what I strive for. I am compassionate, passionate, detail oriented and punctual. Additionally, I have assisted children with autism with communication challenges, difficulties with social interaction and gaining confidence. It is with this broad range of skills I creatively pull from that I feel I would be a wonderful extension of your team. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you and the possibility of working with you in the near future. 2004-2005- substitute teacher in private school in various subjects grades K-7. Main focus - English, Art, and Spanish, but not limited to. I have taught art classes privately with small groups of children as well as private individual lessons. Recently I taught 17 autistic students art. The curriculum was designed and written by me and has had overwhelming success. Each class was organized around a different artist or style. Students used colored pencils, colored paper, crayons, stickers and more to create pieces inspired by those artists, as well as pop culture and politics. At the end of each class they explained to the other students why they felt their project supported the style taught. They had direction as well as freedom to make choices as an artist. They learned “public speaking” in a safe environment. (To be noted- this is often extremely difficult for people on the spectrum.) To bring enthusiasm to whatever I am instructing is a part of what I aspire to. I have extensive training and continuing education in art and oil painting. I am adept in acrylic paint as well. Figure and portrait drawing classes and workshops in advanced color application and methods from some of the leading artists in the country have been studied.
**TO BE NOTED - my per hour fee range average is $35 to $85. It depends on the position and what is needed/required. (I did not see where to qualify this aspect. Special needs, etc. could vary my rates as well - so many variables and situations.)

I am a junior in high school and I have a little sister in sixth grade I help with math all the time. I really enjoy geometry and algebra, and I would be happy to help out. I am also able to help write essays as far as how to structure them, or just to help edit/revise them. Performing onstage has been one of my passions for about 9 years now and I would love to help out with memorizing lines, auditions, and oral language. My rates are negotiable and subject to change as needed. Thank you so much and I hope I can help!

I use my knowledge of long-term learning to do more than tutor, but to also foster a love of learning. My goal is to help my students maintain what they learn well after the lessons are over.
"Maybe you can stay for ... 8 more minutes." - Kindergarten student
"She knows a lot about a lot of things." - 7th-grade student
"I couldn't have gotten an A without you." - College studnet
If this sounds like the kind of tutor you want to work with, then book an appointment. I look forward to meeting you!

I am a freshman at UCLA as a biochemistry major! I have been a volunteer tutor at my local middle school and a paid tutor at my local tutoring center. Through both of these tutoring experiences, I have helped many students succeed in their classes through breaking down complex concepts so that they are easily understandable yet still thoroughly grasped. Everyone has different ways of learning, so I try to get an idea of how the student learns and tailor my teaching methods to help the student learn in the best way fit for them!
