The rate is $22/hour with a 4 hour minimum; the sitter is paid on the 1/2 hour after the minimum. After 10pm, there is a travel surcharge of $15. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, there will be a $45 fee. If you cancel with less than 2 hours notice, there will be a fee equal to the booking minimum ($88). You do pay the sitter directly, at the end of the booking (they do prefer cash). All Pinch Sitters have at least 3 years experience and at least 2 recent childcare references. All Pinch Sitters are personally interviewed and submit to a full reference, criminal and background check. All Pinch Sitters have extensive experience in many diverse settings: daycare/pre-K programs, K-12 classrooms, after school/summer camps, art therapy, and children's theater, dance, music, and gymnastics classes. Our experienced, responsible, reliable, and loving staff design fun and enriching activities while making sure that your children are safe and protected. The office is open Monday thru Friday from 8am-5pm. We do take same day requests and ask for a two hour turn around time (if a sitter is available). Currently, I am finishing my fourth full year of teaching elementary school. I am a 5th grade special education teacher in an integrated co-teaching classroom. For two years, I previously taught grades 1-3, so I have experience working with younger and older elementary aged students. I am familiar with the curriculum across all elementary grades. Starting for the Summer 2018, I can easily accommodate schedules, as mine is very flexible and open.
I have taught elementary math for four and a half years. This past school year, I've had numerous PD's on elementary math. I work in small group and whole group settings during math, and differentiate instruction using manipulatives, visuals, and other ways to engage students.
This past year I have worked very closely with the reading teacher at my school, to improve both reading and writing in the classroom. Reading is heavily emphasized in the classroom, and is something the students practice every day. I use the practices of having both small groups, and whole class reading. I use a "I do" "we do" "you do" approach to reading, so students are able to see the model, practice as a class, and complete work independently.
Phonics is practiced closely in the younger grades, but still incorporated into my 5th grade lessons. For my lower students, I work both in small group and 1:1 settings to improve phonics and fluency. I do this by reading books, using flash cards, using illustrations, and charts.
Students practice spelling by using flash cards, illustrations, and participating in engaging and effective educational games.
I have an open schedule and am willing to accommodate any time during the week to meet.

I have always had a great passion for helping others and being in the classroom. In deciding on a profession, I chose to follow my passion of leading, teaching, and helping others. While my primary focus for my degree is Secondary Education with a specialization in history, I have extensive experience tutoring children from preschool through high school. Likewise, I babysit and nanny children from infancy through middle school. During my time in high school, I was a member of the National Honor Society and the Italian Honor Society. I was also an ambassador for the National Society of High School Scholars. I was also a member of the Peer Mentor organization and a club called PUSH/REBEL. These organizations focused on teaching the youth of the community the dangers of getting involved with or using illegal substances and helped immerse students in positive leadership and educational activities. As a college student, I work for a tutoring company and tutor English Language Arts, History, Chemistry, and Algebra. I also work for a nanny company. It is my hope that I can connect with more students and have the opportunity to work with more children through TutorExtra.

My intellectual curiosity, love of learning, and desire to positively impact the lives of others ultimately lead me into the field of education. I believe that the purpose of education is to equip an individual with the necessary tools to problem solve, effectively communicate, and think critically. The quality of education that children receive in their early years is pivotal to their development and success later in life.
I am currently working as a Kindergarten teacher in an inclusive classroom for Baltimore City Public Schools. I hold two Maryland Educator Certificates, in Elementary Education and Special Education. In May 2016, I completed the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Johns Hopkins University. I also have experience working with students with Autism and other special needs.
I believe that as a teacher, I contribute to the development of dynamic and engaging learning environments for students. I look forward to working with your child/student!

To Whom it May Concern:
I am interested in applying for an elementary-level teaching position in your school district. As a 2014 I have been working in education. I started as a paraprofessional in a one-on-once capacity with a student with Autism. After three years, and my student’s readiness to be on their own, I moved for a short time into the Life Skills program. At that time, I was going to be going into student teaching at the elementary level. So, this past fall (2017) I transferred schools to an elementary school as a classroom paraprofessional in second grade. I worked with a class in the paraprofessional capacity, finishing up my Masters courses. While I was working (September through December break) I was responsible for a small math intervention group as well as my classroom duties.
In January 2018 I began my student teaching. While there I implemented a new classroom management system (Classroom Dojo). I also immediately took over a math and reading intervention group.
I finished my student teaching experience April 20th, 2018. I will be graduating May 12th with my Masters of Elementary Education. I have had over 100 observational hours before I started my student teaching. These observations ranged from kindergarten through sixth grade. My certification has been issued by the state of New Hampshire.
I believe my teaching experience and passion learning and classroom engagement make me an ideal candidate to make a positive impression on your educational experience.
