I graduated from Princeton Unversity, with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering in Spring 2018. I am currently applying to medical schools, but have always had a passion for teaching - whereas I began tutoring other students - both younger and the same age as I - as a freshman in high school. I continued during my summer breaks from college, even though I had various internships and research jobs. I am working full-time (40 hours a week) as a clinical research assistant at CHOP, but would love to continue to teach on the side! I love working with everyone from children to young adults. I am willing to work out location, hours, and what services I am willing to provide, depending on the student -- this includes via skype for interested students that are not in the Philadelphia area. Please contact me for interest and pricing and I am sure we can work something out!

My main objective is to find an easy way to make the student understand the problem. After making the problem understandable, it comes some "math tricks" to find the result. Once the student gets used to this process, my job is done. So let's make problems no problems any more!

Hi there! My name is Em (Emily) J., and I am a 28 year-old recent gradute of Duke University's ABSN (nursing) program. I also earned a BA in biology from Colby College all the way up in Waterville, ME! I am an oncology travel nurse, and my contracts take me all over the country! My current contract is based out of NYC where my family also www.*** ;
My tutoring experience is pretty dense; I have been tutoring since I was a sophomore in high school (chemistry and English), and I have continued to tutor in both my undergraduate (biology, chemistry, writing) and graduate (nursing pathophysiology and pharmacology) settings. My tutoring style is very engaging; I absolutely love to teach, but I also like to quiz my students to make sure that they are understanding the material that I am presenting to them. My favorite method is the teach-back method where I ask students to pretend I have no knowledge of the material and teach me what they know. This helps me establish a basis of understanding and helps me to tailor a plan of action with students on an individual basis. I am also very open to questions and feedback, and I always let the student take the reins in terms of planning how the session will proceed.
I am very responsive by email ***@*** and I am more than happy to negotiate on prices! Being a nurse, my schedule will vary week to week, but I am more than happy to try accomodate students' schedules as best as I can. I look forward to hearing from you!
Warmly,
Em J.

I have different methods depending on the students's ability to learn. I tend to break elements down that the teacher lack to explain. The things that teachers expect students to know I teach and explain thoroughy so the student's can undentand. I am also aware that the capability of each child is different so I have different methods when I work with different student's. M y experience was an adventurous one.

Hola a todos!
My name is Leyla, I have always loved teaching Spanish. I speak English, but I use Spanish every day at work. I work with an accounting firm and I take care of Spanish speakers with communication and document translations. I teach students of all fluency levels. Many of my students prefer learning through conversational Spanish and I love it. We talk about many subjects, especially New York City. I love the city and I know many places, so I have a lot to talk about it. I also teach by using a structured grammar, that depending on your needs and preferences. In all cases, I strive to make my classes interactive and fun.
I am very good at helping students succeed. I have an excellent knowledge of grammar and can explain some of the very difficult concepts, such as double object pronouns, conditional sentences, etc. I also like to have fun learning; the best memories are when you had fun! I promise I'll make your tutoring experience enjoyable! Be ready for me teaching you jokes, songs, and according to your age ... some other lines!
By the way, if you want to have lessons with your friends that will be great.
Me encantaría ayudarte a aprender español!

As a part of my undergraduate studies, I took many courses in mathematics and an assortment of applied fields (economics, physics, computer science, philosophy). My mathematics education included calculus (up to multivariate and differential equations), statistics, real & complex analysis and linear algebra. My interests mostly lie in the realm of mathematical logic because it dives deeper into proofs and the potential paradoxes that follow. My goal is to be a professor at a university that allows me to research pure mathematics. If there's a math topic that isn't represented in my profile, there's an equal chance that I know it enough to teach you, or that I would be willing to learn for you!
I also spent my years throughout high school and college studying, practicing, and performing music through my instrument, the flute. I've performed solo and with ensembles at many venues such as Merkin Concert Hall, Roulette Intermedium, National Sawdust, and the DiMenna Center for Classical Music. As a result of a concerto competition win, I played the Khachaturian Flute Concerto with the Stony Brook University Orchestra (full performance on YouTube). I also started a unofficial flute choir at SBU, arranging pieces for flutes of varying sizes. I have an equal appreciation for solo repertoire, chamber music, and orchestral excerpts; and if you're just starting out, I'd love to help out on your journey!

Hello! My name is Jennifer, and I'm an 19-year-old student at NYU. I am currently majoring in English, linguistics and minoring in creative writing.
I've always loved tutoring, and I had much experience with it back in high school. I've worked for the TOEFL Killer Studio for two months, and tutored private SAT lessons in my senior year. The experience helped me greatly develop my ways of teaching. Despite being a non native speaker, I still managed to get high scores on standardized testing, due to my unique skills of solving the questions.
-I grew up in China and had rigorous math training. As a result, I received a 5 on AP Calculus BC, so SAT math was in comparison very easy for me.
-I have spoken mandarin throughout my life. It's my first language.
-I received an 111(I didn't finish the listening because I had to use the bathroom) on my TOEFL, 750 on my SAT reading and a 790 on writing. Also, I've been intensively studying the language since an early age, and I can easily upstage many native speakers.
Please contact me for more info. Looking forward to meeting you!

I am a graduate student at NYU and am currently in the process of obtaining my masters in applied quantitive research methods. I enjoy teaching greatly and have worked with students of all age groups, from elementary school students to adults. I have been tutoring for six years and assisted more than 100 students with high school and college level Mathematics, Chinese, and preparing for standardized tests such as SAT and ACT. I have had incredible success working with students in the past through tailoring my lessons to the student and matching it to their learning style. Through assessing the skill-level of each student, I am able to present the material in the most effective manner.
I attended an international school in China and moved to the United States at the age of 9. My multicultural heritage gave me an edge in learning languages, allowing me to easily pick up Spanish in middle school. Being well versed in Chinese and English makes me a knowledgeable tutor for both Chinese international students wishing to improve their English and American students that desire to learn Chinese. I am the perfect fit if you're looking for a Mandarin or ESOL Tutor.
My years of experience tutoring students in Mathematics allows me to avoid common misconceptions that students make and develop explanations that students can understand easily. I enjoy showing students how different topics relate to each other. By doing so, students are able to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics. A strong Mathematics foundation will greatly benefit students for the rest of their academic career.
My specialties are the SAT and ACT exams. I, myself, have received a 2350 on the SAT and a 35 on the ACT, so I am more than qualified to tutor for these tests. Having received perfect scores on the Math portion of the SAT, ACT, GRE, and SAT Math subject tests, I can show students the commonly asked questions and contents to prepare for on the SAT and ACT Math.
I believe that every student can achieve their goals with a plan that fits them, along with consistent work. Parents have complimented me on my patience and told me that their children have achieved better grades with my guidance. I have a very flexible schedule, so I can easily accommodate your schedule as needed and start immediately.

I am a former journalist and editor who had the privilege of working for the best: Reuters, ABCNews and Bloomberg are some of the places where I honed my craft and had the opportunity to work with the masters. What I learned at these places was eventually, how to trust my own instincts and words and then to mold those elements into whatever writing task I was required to do. My goal as a writing tutor is to demystify the process -- because contrary to popular opinion, writing is fun -- and easy -- if approached in the right way. As an academic coach, I will help you discover and find your thesis, clarify if further research is needed and help you learn to structure your essays and papers. As a creative writing teacher, I will help you find the stories, screenplays, speeches and essays that already live inside www.*** schedule and rates are flexible! I am also available to conduct group workshop.
