I am a certified teacher for 5-8 math. I have been teaching for two years. Though my expertise is in math, I can tutor in all middle school/ elementary grade levels.
Working with kids has always been my passion, in and outside of my church. So, I decided to study Elementary Education at a christian university, also specializing in religion. I have some experience teaching students with behavioral issues as well as students with learning disabilities. As a current college student, i am eager to help apply some of my teaching knowledge in order to help someone in need!
I am a junior at College Prepertaory School of America. Which was the top ranked school in Illinois. So I believe my Math is really strong and I can help other kids that need help in math .
I am currently in university, studying towards earning my bachelor's in education where I will be starting to teach from Kindergarten to 8th-grade students. I have been tutoring for over four years now and for the past 2 years, I have also a been part of a program with my school where we go to elementary/middle schools around the city and help tutor students and make sure they get the help that they need. I am able to tutor students who need help with math, science, English or social studies.
The topics I will cover are Basic Math (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division), Fractions, Decimals, number lines, absolute value, and negative integers.

I have experience as a tutor with kids aged 4-16 while working at Huntington Learning Center. I helped kids work on reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, elementary math, middle school math, algebra, and ACT test prep. I was also a camp counselor where I directed the art program. I believe learning should be fun and having a positive attitude towards learning, especially when working with a challenging subject, goes a long way. I am currently working towards my PhD in Biomedical Sciences and I wanted to continue tutoring while working towards my PhD.
I am a biochemist with more than 10 years of research experience. I have supervised PhD research fellows, project trainees and summer trainees (graduates and undergraduates) during their research projects. In all, I have a good experience of interacting with students.
I understand that each student has his or her ability to understand any topic. So I believe in applying different methods of teaching to make sure that the student has understood the topic completely. I am always ready to listen to the ideas offered by students too for understanding and revising any subject. I have published a number of research articles in International journals of repute. As a part of my job, I used to tutor Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology to undergraduate and graduate students. I also used to teach science and math to elementary level students in part time. Teaching is my hobby. I have a first grader at home and I teach her too. :)

About me, I am currently in 8th grade and will be entering highschool this upcoming fall. I have maintained straigh A's throughout my elementary school years. I scored in the 98 percentile in reading and math for the NWEA, an Illinois standarized test. I also scored in the 97 percentile in math for the selective enrollment highschool test for Chicago Public Schools. I have been admitted into one of the top five schools in Illinois based on US News & World Report Best Highschools Rankings. I'm currently taking Honors Geometry and would love to tutor your child! I tutor from basic math (pre-k/kindergarten) all the way to Algebra (8th grade).
