The Galveston Math Tutor
Tutor, Teacher, Instructor
|
I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada but moved to Texas with my family right after graduatinhigh school and attended Dallas Baptist University the following year. I completed my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics in 3 years with a cumulative GPA of 3,942 and immediately started teaching. I started my first year teaching in a large public school in inner-city Dallas but after a few months decided that it wasn't a good fit for me. So I packed my things and headed to Fusion Academy Dallas, a unique 1-1 private school where understanding the student's physical, emotional, social and academic needs is key. I completely agreed with their one-on-one, personalized teaching approach and thoroughly enjoyed my time there because I got to build real, authentic relationships with the students and mentor them while teaching them my favorite subject matter. So how did I end up in Galveston, you might ask? Well, my husband is going to medical school at UTMB in the fall, so we moved to this beautiful island paradise and I am striking out on my own. If you are looking for a tutor who not only knows their stuff inside and out, but also cares about who students are as a person and how they are doing emotionally, mentally, socially and academically, give me a call. My tutoring programs are uniquely tailored to each student based on their strengths and weaknesses and are guaranteed to give your student the advantage they need to be successful!

Hello! I would love to help you (or you child) foster a love for learning and further your education! Whether you're falling behind in a class, looking to get ahead, or pursuing an outside interest, I'm the person for you! I am currently a high school student with over 6 years of experience in childcare and teaching. I have worked with both neurotypical and neurodivergent students and believe I am well equipped to help students of all skill levels and abilities. I am currently a private music instructor and a daycare teacher, throughout the stay at home order for the Covid-19 pandemic, I worked for a family as a 1-on-1 tutor to help their children (6 and 14) with online/distance learning. I have a passion for music and believe it to be an important tool to be used when learning/teaching new subjects. I am always looking to learn more and approach every opportunity to educate myself further. Your tutoring session will be tailored to you, if you learn better through conversation and the socratic method, then we'll do that! If you learn better through worksheets and tests, that is exactly what we'll do. Upon graduating high school, I'm planning on pursuing a degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Eduation from Bowling Green State University with a minor in music performance! I have a weighted GPA of www.*** and recieved a 31 on my ACT. Please feel free to email me at ***@*** com with any questions/comment/concerns you may have! I look forward to getting to know you and/or your student, and learning together!

I am very flexible and I get the job done. Feel free to contact me at any time and I am in the Clinton, Maryland area but I don't mind traveling to you. I also go further than just helping them with the problems on their homework I give tips, strategies, and notes to solve the problems on their own.

Hi, my name is Danielle Z. and I am a senior at UNCG! I was a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education for 3 years and I am now studying Media Studies. My goal as a tutor is not only to assist students who struggle in school, but to help them develop a passion for learning. I am an avid reader and writer and want to help kids become avid readers and writers as well. I will plan my lessons with enjoyable and educational activites pertaining to the student's educational level and interests. I will also plan these lessons for summer to keep student's brains fresh and ready for school in the fall.

Math is something I specialize in because it is all about recognizing patterns and analyzing it to figure out more difficult problems. I have helped students in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, SAT and ACT math under a year, but I have helped my fellow peers in the subjects to better understand and remember the subject matter.
I know the best way to tutor and I think the best tutor should help the student not ever need a tutor again. I provide the first lesson free, so see if I'm a good fit and I will be available until you don't need me anymore.

Since I graduated high school I've thought of taking on tutoring! The only reason I don't show my face is that I'd like to keep some anonymity while putting myself on the internet. If you are interested in my tutoring service, I'll happily show my face during lessons. Due to COVID, I'd like to keep all of my lessons online; I am available with using Zoom, Google classroom, or Cisco WebEx.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me :)

I have tutored students from pre-dchool all the way through juniors in high school. During my years at Canisius, I completed over 200 hours of field work. I also was selected to teach in Spain for three weeks. I have had to write and teach lessons and assess students. I have learned many different methods of teaching and tailor my teaching methods in a way that is best for the student
I also was a teacher aide for students with special needs during the summer for a summer school program. I did this for four years. I have a strong interest in children with autism.
As a tutor, I take time to form a relationship with both the student and parent. I encourage both the student and parent to take an active role in the tutoring process. I tailor my lessons to what the parent indetifies as a area of development and the student.

I am just trying to get some experience and money while doing something I love! Working with younger kids is definitely a strong suit of mine, they're just fun and easy to talk to! I can help your child with test anxiety, as that is something that I suffer from as well, so with a little bit of knowledge and coping mechanisms, I would love to help decrease the amount of stress and anxiety they feel whether there's just a small spelling test or a bigger math test coming up! I am in Honors Pre-AP algebra this year, and will be placed in Honors Geometry next year. Math is another strong suit of mine, and I can understand that it is not fun! I will be able to sympathize with your child while getting them to get it done. As an elementary student, I remember hating math, even though I was good at it, making it hard for my parents to help me get it done and move on with our night; I know it was frustrating so I would like to help decrease the amount of stress that it puts on you parents. I suffer from anxiety and ADHD, and may be receiving a service dog soon, which could be helpful in a tutoring environment! If your child also suffers from these things, I can help with that, and give them some easy coping skills that have helped me in the past. If asked, I can include these things when you have me tutor your child, and I won't charge you any extra.
I can babysit as well, please visit Urban Sitter to find me.
I hope you'll consider me to help, as it is a huge passion of mine. Thank you for taking your time to read this!

I was homeschooled, so I have a lot of experience helping siblings understand their work. When I transferred to the public charter school (Harmony Science Academy), I was always one of the best at all of the classes I was in-- except art-- and I would help anyone who asked me to without doing the work for them.
I struggled in math in middle school and I worked really hard to understand it. Now I am good at mathematics.
