A majority of my courses consist of math and science courses. I have watched kids as young as 3 months all the way up to age 12. During the school year, I would pick up kids from school and care for them until their parents came home. Over the summers, I would watch the kids from 7 AM - 5 PM. I am comfortable driving with kids in the car as I have experience taking them to and from summer camps, sports practices, clubs, and the pool. I am comfortable preparing meals and enforcing bedtime routines.

I've been tutoring since I was in eighth grade, but officially I'd put it around 2-3 years ago. I make lesson plans, worksheets, study guides - whatever you or your child need to succeed! I have experience as a tutor with kids aged 4-16 while working at Huntington Learning Center. I helped kids work on reading comprehension, essay writing, grammar, elementary math, middle school math, algebra, and ACT test prep. I was also a camp counselor where I directed the art program. I believe learning should be fun and having a positive attitude towards learning, especially when working with a challenging subject, goes a long way. I am currently working towards my PhD in Biomedical Sciences and I wanted to continue tutoring while working towards my PhD.
I love to color, craft, and find stuff outdoors to do with the kids I watch. My baby sister is 2 and a half, and I often watch her for 2-8 hours, so I know first hand how rough it can be! I was in honors english most of my high school, and I will be going into a statistics major. I often helped my siblings with their homework, and the kids I babysat.
I am a biochemist with more than 10 years of research experience. I have supervised PhD research fellows, project trainees and summer trainees (graduates and undergraduates) during their research projects. In all, I have a good experience of interacting with students.
I understand that each student has his or her ability to understand any topic. So I believe in applying different methods of teaching to make sure that the student has understood the topic completely. I am always ready to listen to the ideas offered by students too for understanding and revising any subject. I have published a number of research articles in International journals of repute. As a part of my job, I used to tutor Biology, Biochemistry and Physiology to undergraduate and graduate students. I also used to teach science and math to elementary level students in part time. Teaching is my hobby. I have a first grader at home and I teach her too. :)
I strongly believe that education is the right of every person. It has a strong impact in shaping up the personality of any individual. Therefore, I want to make it easily affordable. I am offering free consultation meeting before starting the lessons. I also offer free first lesson.
