My name is Malika G.! I am currently an elementary school teacher in the Houston area! My passion is teaching and working with kids. I have tremendous experience with children. My first job was a swim instructor where I gave swim lessons to all ages. I then became a Dance Instructor where I taught Bollywood dance to children ages 5-15. I was also a Montessori teacher for 2 years and was responsible for children ages 0-5 years. In addition to all of this, I am the eldest out of my cousins and siblings in my family and have pretty much taken up responsibility of helping care for them since a very young age. I look forward to helping your child achieve your academic goals and am excited to see how much they can learn and grow! :)

Dear parent/guardian,
Hey there! My name is Alexis, of course, you may call me Lexy if you would like, and I am a high school student located in the New Orleans area. I started tutoring about four months ago and have fallen in love with it. I am 100% willing to go above and beyond for your children in making sure they are prepared. I would definitely like a week's notice beforehand and a general idea as to what he/she is learning so I can be fully prepared and give them all the information they need as well as some fun facts to really impress their teachers! Shoot me an email or a message on skype so we can set up a time for a meeting so I can get to know you and your little Einstein. Thank you for your time.
See you soon,
Alexis B.

I was born and raised in British Columbia, Canada but moved to Texas with my family right after graduatinhigh school and attended Dallas Baptist University the following year. I completed my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mathematics in 3 years with a cumulative GPA of 3,942 and immediately started teaching. I started my first year teaching in a large public school in inner-city Dallas but after a few months decided that it wasn't a good fit for me. So I packed my things and headed to Fusion Academy Dallas, a unique 1-1 private school where understanding the student's physical, emotional, social and academic needs is key. I completely agreed with their one-on-one, personalized teaching approach and thoroughly enjoyed my time there because I got to build real, authentic relationships with the students and mentor them while teaching them my favorite subject matter. So how did I end up in Galveston, you might ask? Well, my husband is going to medical school at UTMB in the fall, so we moved to this beautiful island paradise and I am striking out on my own. If you are looking for a tutor who not only knows their stuff inside and out, but also cares about who students are as a person and how they are doing emotionally, mentally, socially and academically, give me a call. My tutoring programs are uniquely tailored to each student based on their strengths and weaknesses and are guaranteed to give your student the advantage they need to be successful!

I love math and children. My love for math started when I was eight when my family and I moved to Texas. I loved the math rallies. As years when by, my love for math kept growing and every year I was even more anxious than the year before to see what else was out there to learn. By the time I was in college there wasn't anything I loved more than having my cup of coffee and my big binder filled with math problems and just cracking my head over them. I found great pleasure in finding a solution and even a greater one in not being able to solve them. I loved the head-scratching, the headaches and of course finding the solution and understanding the problem at the end. I was not able to graduate as I took a job promotion as a general manager which took up much of my time and also got married. My love for children started when I first looked at my little brother, Leonardo. He's now my little math genius which I think sounds awesome! Since then, my views on children changed completely. I really believe kids are the future and the purest things on earth. They should be loved and educated. Each kid is different, each kid has different strenghts and weaknesses, and each kid is capable of greatness. I belive in teaching in way each kid is always motivated and confident. Seeing kids succeed and grow and become awesome people brings joy to my heart. There's nothing I enjoy doing more than spending time with children and even better teaching them a subject i feel so passionate about.

I enjoy working with children and believe learning should be loaded with lots of fun and creativity. I've been working with small children since I was twelve years old and have loved every moment of it. I truly care about helping younger minds grow and prosper. Throughout my years in school, I have been a straight A student who works extra hard for my grades. As a tutor, I would like to help children develop a good work ethic so that they too can begin to prosper in school. Education is very important to me and I believe that with knowledge, a child can go so much further in life.

I have been a highly academic person for the entirety of my life. Growing up I always had busy summers, learning and practicing math and reading skill for the upcoming academic year. I come from a place of understanding of parents who want the best for their children, and they manifest that academically and am more than capable of facilitating that need. My passion for working with kids has also been manifested through my being a den chief for my Boy scout troop. I am excited to work with your child, to help them achieve their greatest potential.
